Epic Swindle Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 (edited) Thought I'd start a new thread just about the lad himself and not his play acting or the current racism accusations. Interview in the Mirror where he touches on Carroll and our ambitions. Nice to hear he's thinking about staying for a long time but we've heard a lot of that before. Think it's important that this side wins some silverware to show we're going places. CL, while massively important, isn't going anywhere and we can build on a bit of success. http://www.mirrorfoo...icle828852.html Edited November 9, 2011 by Masuka
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Talking about staying for a long time? I promised myself I wouldn't get hurt again.
Falconhoof Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I think if you take away the silly fabricated stories about diving and racism he's a very steady and level headed character. He doesn't go in for the trappings of fame, he's not into tattoos or changing his appearance with hairstyles. You never hear of any nightclub incidents. He posts picture after picture of his wife and kids who he clearly adores and lives for. If any player is going to settle with us for a good few years, I think its a fair bet he will.
Benzo-13 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Good words but anyone who thinks the vultures won't be circling around our best players if we miss out on the Champions League again is crackers. That'd be our third year out of it and the gap will grow.
Epic Swindle Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 Talking about staying for a long time? I promised myself I wouldn't get hurt again. Beyond his current 5 year deal, just the usual coached PR. Footballers are simple creatures, money and success motivate the best ones. If we don't get CL but win a trophy at least we can say to him, look, we're going places, give us more time to ward off the big Spanish clubs.
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Good words but anyone who thinks the vultures won't be circling around our best players if we miss out on the Champions League again is crackers. That'd be our third year out of it and the gap will grow. Indeed ! Great lad, great words but if a player is of World Class standard and Liverpool as a club is not challenging for the top trophies then they are fair-game for top bids at top wages. Gerrard and Carra were exceptions given their entrenchment within the city, otherwise we have seen Owen and Torres aswell as Alonso and Mascherano. Thankfully Reina stayed but there is little stopping Suarez leaving given that we have given him a great platform to show-case himself.
drdooom Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 If any player is going to settle with us for a good few years, I think its a fair bet he will. Don't do this to yourself. If you think you can come cry in my arms when he leaves, you're wrong.
muleskinner Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Does it really need yet another thread about him?
schmuckdonald Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 At the risk of playing Devil's advocate, IF he were to go, we'd get a massive massive wedge for him.
honourablegeorge Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 At the risk of playing Devil's advocate, IF he were to go, we'd get a massive massive wedge for him. He's young, he's here, and he's doing well. Any massive wedge we got would have to go on replacing him, and that gets harder and harder. We need him to stay, and we need to complement him with more quality. And the CL.
Gambit Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 If anyone thinks Luis will remain here if we are not challenging for trophies then they are sadly mistaken. He'll be off, like Torres. There is precious little loyalty in football any more.
floyd the barber Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 love Suarez..awesome player..will he be here in 2 seasons time?? honestly...i doubt it.Reckon he`ll be lining up for Barca come the 2013 - 2014 season.....
Mike Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Lying b*****d. Just f*** off now and have done with it.
Gunga Din Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Lying b*****d. Just f*** off now and have done with it. yep. sell him in January so as to end this speculation
The_Adder Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 He's s****, get rid. I miss Ngog, at least he had potential.
Redray Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 He's s****, get rid. I miss Ngog, at least he had potential. Also Ngog is much more loyal. He would have been here in 10 years time if he wasn't given the boot.
carrafan Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 yep. sell him in January so as to end this speculation Sack him now. That way we dont have to argue how Kenny spent the 'Suarez money'
anfield11 Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Any chance Uruguay will rest him today Thought not
CarraLegend Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Nice goal for Uruguay! Make that 2 goals!
