Iver Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 This one has Robbie Keane written all over it. Unless things change markedly in the next few weeks, I can see the barcodes in for Carroll in January. If they offered in around 25 million, I think we would be foolish not to seriously consider it. It is increasingly apparent that Kenny has issues with him. For all his qualities, Suarez is not a "goalscorer" as such - his finishing ability is perhaps his greatest weakness. We need a modern day Fowler or Rush, or dare I say it Torres (i.e. the player of three seasons ago). If cutting our losses with Carroll helps bring that about, I would be all for it.
D.Boon Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 No way Newcastle are Giving us £25million in january
Falconhoof Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 If we could get a proven goalscorer i'd accept a pound for Carroll.
Cam Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Mike Ashley isn't stupid. He got £35m in January from us. He'll probably get us to pay them to take him away!
Clay Davis Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 If we sell him, which we probably will, it'll be for around 10-15mill i'd say.
Iver Posted October 23, 2011 Author Posted October 23, 2011 Mike Ashley isn't stupid. He got £35m in January from us. He'll probably get us to pay them to take him away! True, 25m is totally unrealistic. Would we take £15? (20 million loss - shudder)
Cobs Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Don't want him sold, want him to get some pitch time.
Epic Swindle Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Come on, can we stop acting like tarts? We drew at home, and there's still 29 games to go.
Sion Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 If we could get a proven goalscorer i'd accept a pound for Carroll. Yep. Regardless of the fee, as long as we could use it and the Merelesh money to get one of Llorente, Rossi or Cavani then i'd be made up.
muleskinner Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Which tart is starting the dalglish out thread?

How do you fancy giving up your beautiful sunny life in Naples with regular Champions League footy and come to Liverpool. We might bench you from time to time and we may not have the same Italian weather but hey, it only rains 300 days a year.

They are hardly CL regulars either. Once in how many decades?
Boca Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 How about this for a radical idea - we keep Carroll and buy another striker in January? That's what a team with ambitions of silverware would do.

Sion Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 Which tart is starting the dalglish out thread? That's not really the same, at all, is it? Carroll has been here nearly a year and he's had one good performance. He doesn't fit in with the team/Suarez either. He cost £35m.The most expensive British player ever. Yeah yeah fee doesn't matter... except it does, doesn't it. Every game he plays and is crap is devaluing him. If we can recover a large % of a fee we'd be stupid not to. For £35m we could have had a plethora of better footballers. I fully expect him to stay though, and will support him whenever he plays, but i'm firmly in the cut our loses and move on camp.

Case Posted October 23, 2011 Posted October 23, 2011 This is just b******s. A lot of posters on thgis forum just need to get a grip of themselves. Hounding out a player who barely played yesterday and didn't play last week. A player who scored against Everton, and who had been improving. Do you think he put himself on the bench against Utd. and Norwich? The manager did - and if ONE of our multiple chances in both games had been converted, we wouldn't be talking about this. Instead, we blame a kid who might even have won us both games if he'd played - and certainly wasn't at fault for us dropping four points while he was sat on his a*** on the bench. Should be f***ing ashamed of yourselves. Bunch of c****.

The kenny out thread is one defeat away.

How do you fancy coming to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world in the most watched league in the world? You'll get to play with two of your mates, get a s*** load more money and not play for a club whose fans stab the opposition every other week.

Almost every player in the squad (and the manager) has got it in the neck at some point . It's an absolute joke.

So we should just pretend he's been great for the past 10 months and not question how he has looked ineffective pretty much every time he plays? Did you see his pitiful performance against Rangers? Where he had a chance to say to Kenny 'play me, I can get you goals' and he was basically not arsed and played like he was above it all. And I think the bit about him improving is debatable. Considering his best game was versus City last season.
