Best restaurants in the North West

What are the best? The area is pretty sparse in terms of Michelin starred places (Northcote Manor and the Grosvenor) but there must be plenty of others that are of a high standard. And I'm talking for want of a better term 'fine dining' rather than chain restaurants or 'my favourite curry house'.
