External HDD failure

To all tech-minded people: I have (had) a WD external HD break on me the other day, just won't switch on. Replaced the power pack, same problem. Ideally would like to save the HD though, has my iTunes library and photos on it. Is it worth trying to get the HDD out of the case and trying it in a new enclosure? Any recommendations on enclosures? My WD HDD is this model.
