Clubs are all for it. If they play Thursday Sunday they'll have their players back for most of the week.

40 years ago, years of the England treating the rest of the football World, the smaller nations especially, like a supporting cast, led to a FIFA takeover led by Brazil, led by Havelange, based on pushing the interests of the smaller nations and opening up the World Cup etc. Blatter sucked up to him, was anointed successor, and is still dealing with many of the same people and their successors who won that battle 40 years ago and still think they are holding the line against a return to the old days and an end to the official and unofficial handouts that fund them.
