Epic Swindle Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/reds-to-face-rangers Fair enough they need to make up the shortfall due to the lack of europe but the scheduling's a bit daft imo, after the mancs and a few days before a must win at home against Norwich. Hopefully we send the fringe lads and ressies.

Falconhoof Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 It will be non essential personnel. Good experience for Spearing Wilson Sterling Coates etc
Epic Swindle Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 They way Mcoist is talking they're expecting the first team. They're skint and desperate mind so might just be hyping it up.
Mike Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Really odd timing this. Has to be a fringe and reserve outing.
Epic Swindle Posted October 4, 2011 Author Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Had a look on one of their forums and most are nonplussed. 25 squid to watch our squad players. Edited October 4, 2011 by Epic Swindle
CarraLegend Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Bit weird, especially as the attendance will be absolutely dreadful. Spearing, Maxi and co really do need some minutes somewhere though so its alright with me.
Falconhoof Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 25 squid to watch our squad players. i think thats the strangest thing of all. Let everyone in for a tenner and you might fill the place, give the players a rocking crowd to play for and generate a worthwhile atmosphere. 25 to watch this is surely ill conceived. Unless we are going full strength team, which would be even stranger.

It's a money thing, the excuse will be we're at least half a dozen, potentially a dozen games short for the season.
Case Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) f*** it. Play Frank McGarvey so the c**** have someone to shout at. Edited October 4, 2011 by Case
Nebraska Red Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) it'll be a big earner for the city, thousands of Rangers fans come down and spend money, then get arrested and pay huge fines. still cannot get over the chaos in Liverpool when the scots played wales at anfield it's a win for everybody. Stevie H Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 'prestigious' has a much older, possibly more accurate, definition as it goes.
aka Dus Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Do they hate us cos we sing Celtic songs and they hate Celtic, and we hate Chelsea and they love Chelsea and cos we have a Celtic legend managing us and they hate Celtic and we have Bellamy and he is Celtic an.they hate Celtic or do they love us cos we have Wilson and Adam and they are old Blues and our manager is a boyhood Blue and are one of their own and everyone knows Everton is the Catholic club and Liverpool is the Protestant Club in Liverpool or what's the story?
smithdown Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) still cannot get over the chaos in Liverpool when the scots played wales at anfield Ah now you've got me started. Happy days that was. Got sent home from school at dinner cos thousands were already gathering in the area looking for spares and having kickabouts and jars out on our field (and looking for ways in, I think a good few got up in the floodlights), and they were all jocks, that yellow flag with the rampant lion was everywhere, no sign of anything welsh. All the kids off our estate were made up hanging round outside the alehouses on Robson St trying to understand what the feck they were singing about. Everyone was out of their houses watching them go on like it was a carnival. It was an invasion of happy scruffy p1ssed up loons. They were dead sound though and the noise out of the ground during the game was nonstop berzerk, it must have been some scene on The Kop that night. When I got up for school the next morning there were half a dozen of them asleep in our hallway, all tartan and curly tatty hair all over the deck. The arl fella had heard them looking for shelter in the front porch and when he opened the door ready for a kick off he found them sat there trying to get out of the rain, they offered up their bottles of booze and he'd let them come in. Loved that game I did. In the yard the next day everyone was trying to do that header, taking turns crossing it in to the near post and flicking it on into the corner with just a little nudge. "DOGLEEEEESSSHHHH!" Yers. Edited October 6, 2011 by smithdown

We've always been a mixed Proddy/Catholic club for as long as I can recall. I think our tolerance is enough for them to default to not liking us. Having said that, I went to the friendly at Ibrox a few years ago (when Nemeth reigned supreme) and they were all very friendly to us then, so who knows. Ah now you've got me started. "DOGLEEEEESSSHHHH!" Yers. I f***ing loved Scotland then. I had that kit cos Kenny wore it. I always wanted them to beat England. Kenny, Souness and Hansen played for them, and we were lucky if England would give Phil Neal a regular game.
