Wife found out last night that one of her ex-bosses (indeed the only one she ever had any time for) was arrested by the FBI last month for having/distributing indecent images of kids

What's really odd about it to me is not the trauma caused to the kids by those taking the pictures (I really don't want to go there), nor the fact that someone can get their kicks off that stuff but I cannot get past "what the f*** were you thinking?" - everything to lose (he's 64, wife, young adult kids, partner in a law firm, great reputation) and absolutely nothing to gain. Nothing.

I doubt anyone will ever re-employ him, I'd be surprised if his wife sticks around (she's a psychologist!!) and I doubt he'll ever be close to his grandkids as and when.... and for what?? I am really befuddled. And yes, he deserves all of that and more for being part of that stuff but why go there? why??
