Whats our best midfiled?

Probably the most important area of the pitch in terms of controlling the game and also protecting your back 4, at the moment the balance is clearly not working with both Adam and Henderson not doing enough to justify starting every week.

 

Obviously getting Gerrard back will help, i think he has to play in the middle because that's such a key area, the question then is who do you play on the right? do you stick with Henderson and hope he improves or do you put Kuyt or Bellamy in there, because at least with one of those two you know they won't go hiding and you know they'll work extremely hard for the team.

Still early days for me, peak fitness will iron out those faults. Think we'll stick with Lucas/Adam with Gerrard ahead or in place of Hendo depending on the system Kenny wants to go with, as it means leaving out one of the main strikers.

looked to me like our fullbacks were not getting nuch help out wide today, many times it was left to Lucas on the right and Adam on the left which opened up the middle of the park for Wolves.

I still, maybe foolishly, believe Adam and Lucas will work - it just needs a higher line behind them to compress the space beween defence and midfield or we run the risk of being exposed.

Definitely, energy, creativity, goals, nous, pace, he's gonna have to play there despite the fact he's awesome futher forward aswell.

 

I'm a bit worried about the Ev and Utd, Jordan has plenty of time to improve yet but he'd be a liability in these two games, it's all about aggression and quality and he's giving us neither at the mo. Charlie has his faults too but theres more plus sides to him, goals, assists, set pieces, passing etc.

Agree with that, another Lucas type that can get around the pitch plug the gaps and pass the ball well is all we need, we have enough attacking options in Gerrard, Downing, Suarez, Bellamy, Kuyt, Carroll, we don't really need that creativity from central midfield at the expense of more important things.

Totally agree. Kenny has put a lot of trust in the kid so far but maybe it's time for a rest.

Me too. I'd risk Gerrard and go Kuyt, Gerrard, Lucas, Downing, Bellamy, Suarez. Loads of pace, loads of link up play, loads of work rate, loads of goal threats, loads of defensive nous. It looks rock solid and should ease the pressure at the back a bit.

Aye - can't forget he caused the first goal today.

 

Kenny doesn't look like dropping Henderson though. I'd defo worry about him next week. Would feel far more comfortable with Kuyt or Bellamy in there.
