Walrus Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Lost it tellingly, his team are yet to concede from a corner this term. But nevermind all that s***, because: Much has been made of Liverpool's defensive strategy and let me say now I'm not a fan of zonal marking and never have been. I guarantee that a running jump will beat a standing jump at any level of football at any time. I expect the media to proper go after him now. Oh and despite the sarcastic tone of this post, I think the topic header might still hold true, even if the reasons for it are completely different than portrayed in this topic.
Epic Swindle Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Would have thought his buying policy was all the proof we needed.
Spion kop Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Yeah, Zonal marking isn't helping them. It's having crap defenders that's their main problem.
Crazy Horse Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 This was a bad. bad defeat. Feel a bit sorry for him.
muleskinner Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 The conclusive proof was on the pitch today, terrible 2nd half showing.
drdooom Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 One win in five games now and that was a 1-0 vs Swansea where their only goal was a silly gift from the Swansea keeper.
CarraLegend Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 The French Hodgson, horrendous manager.
muleskinner Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 They've barely won a game since that 4-4 at Newcastle. It's not a blip this, they've imploded.
jimbolala Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 The French Hodgson, horrendous manager. Did he not win the league a few times, once unbeaten. Not horrendous by any standards
CarraLegend Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Did he not win the league a few times, once unbeaten. Not horrendous by any standards He's a s*** manager now and has been for a good few years. The biggest has been in the game.
MarkD Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Emperor's New Clothes...The Henry Winters of this world are keeping him in a job. He's six plus seasons without winning anything where winning things is the measure of success. A fraud.
domlfc Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 He's a s*** manager now and has been for a good few years. The biggest has been in the game.I dont agree with this at all, think his record stands up next to most and his teams have played some excellent football in that time. I don't know what is going on at Arsenal but I just can't believe Wenger has not bought what he needs because he has a project like most think. Seems to me Arsenal have two very wealthy people in charge of their purse strings trouble is, the wrong one has the majority. Great for us though so let them carry on.
Falconhoof Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 My link - one Arsenal fan even calls for allardyce

He's always been overrated, hapless in Europe, some great times domestically, he's been good overall but he's s*** now, hasnt a clue what he's doing.

Hassony Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 My link - one Arsenal fan even calls for allardyce even during Rafa's darkest times, the majority still backed him in on line polls I did predict in the summer that arsenal will struggle in the same way we did in 09/10 wenger needs a break from this, very difficult to see how he can turn this around, hopefully they'll keep him for as long as possible though
CarraLegend Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 You don't think it runs a good bit deeper than Wenger then? Nope, just bad management.
Swipe Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 He and his team look totally busted. Anything happens to RVP and they're in even bigger s***.
Sion Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 You don't think it runs a good bit deeper than Wenger then? He hasn't replaced the players he's sold for a good few years now. He got lucky years ago that Adebayor and Toure and go co were good enough to step up. His new youngsters aren't and he's paying the price. He spent over £50m this summer. So the 'the board are withholding funds' argument doesn't really wash.
domlfc Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 Nope, just bad management. So who was the last serious signing Arsenal made? I can't believe Wenger would be so arrogant to just wade through the last 2 years without buying what everyone in the land can see he needs, I think they have a huge problem behind closed doors and Wenger is doin what he can.

If he has failed to replace like for like then he deffo should go but, if they are/have been overly careful with the funds then that is not his fault and sacking him could make things even worse for them.

He's not spent £50m net, obviously. He's spent about -£20m net. But still spent £50m on an absolute shower of s***.That Andre Santos doesn't know the offside rule.Mertesacker is as slow as anythingChamberlain is a Walcott clone that for some reason they paid £12m for when they had loads of other problemsGervinho is abysmalArteta is average
