Swipe Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Just reading that Van Der Vaart has declared himself fit for this. Think I'd rather face him than Adebayor and Defoe. He just seems to complicate things for Spurs.
Ethan Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 thats him scoring the last minute winner then
Swipe Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 (edited) Just think they'll do better with a two up front. Anyway, we play like we did on Saturday and we have a great chance of leaving with three points. Edited September 12, 2011 by Swipe
Zoob Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Scarily important game already. Win, and we'll have 10 points from 5 games. Lose or draw, and it will be a not very impressive 7/8 points from 5 games.

Nebraska Red Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 who's the ref? that's the big question. we have to go there and play some positive footy.
Zoob Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 It is though - the difference between winning and not winning in terms of momentum, keeping up the feel good factor is huge.
CarraLegend Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Scarily important game already. Going slightly overboard there! If we lose at worst we'll be level with Arsenal and a point above Spurs with 3 tough away games already out of the way, not exactly crisis time. Hopefully we can get 10mins out of Gerrard, though given he was saying he was exhausted after a couple of training sessions it'll probably be too soon.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 It is though - the difference between winning and not winning in terms of momentum, keeping up the feel good factor is huge. Losing two in a row would kill the feelgood factor.3 points and we're flying again. I think we'll draw, and start arguing amongst ourselves about whether we're good enough to get 4th.
Chili Palmer Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I think we'll draw, and start arguing amongst ourselves about whether we're good enough to get 4th. I think we are good enough for 3rd, is that a different arguement?

We are fighting for 4th and will lose games and drop stupid points this season but putting so much importance on the 5th game of a 38 game season after a decent start is ridiculous. This place will be insufferable if we lose next week but remember Arsenal lost 8 times last season and comfortably finished 4th last season. Spurs away is a really really tough game, A draw would be a good result for us but a defeat wouldn't be the end of the world. Edited September 12, 2011 by lfc003
Mooster Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I see Ledley King played the full match against Wolves - surely they won't get him fit enough to play two consecutive weekends will they?

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 yeah - what I read before the Stoke game had Kelly down as a 17 Sep return. Along with 2 from gerrard, Johnson & Aurelio can't remember which 2 though this is what it said Injured Kelly (hamstring, 17 Sept), Gerrard (groin, 17 Sept), Aurélio (achilles, 17 Sept)

Bogman Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 GloJo done his hammy apparently. More Skittles at right back then.
Sion Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Wish people would stop using Skittles as a nickname. I'd also rather Skrtel didn't play there versus Aaron Lennon and/or Gareth BaleIn fact, i'd go as far as to say i'm dead against it.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Did it specify what year for Aurelio?I actually think it was a typo - it should have been Sept '17
Cooldude Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 To be fair, Skrtel hasn't been that bad at right back. Was great against Bolton, surprised by his forward play at times. TBH I'd trust him there more than Johnson Dunno how Kenny's gonna go about it but we can't start Carra in away games

Flanagan for me if Kelly isn't fit.
CarraLegend Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Dunno how Kenny's gonna go about it but we can't start Carra in away games Why is that?
