Epic Swindle Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 (edited) Manchester City have launched an investigation into claims chief executive Garry Cook sent an email to Nedum Onuoha's cancer-suffering mother which ridiculed her illness. It is understood Cook denies sending the email, which was supposed to be going to City's director of football Brian Marwood anyway, and thinks his email account was hacked into. "Following allegations made to the football club by Dr Anthonia Onuoha, subsequently reported in today's media, the club can confirm that a board-led review has been launched into the matter," said a City statement released on Monday evening. The claims relate to correspondence involving Onuoha's mother, who looks after all the player's contractual arrangements and Marwood over a dispute in October last year. She was stunned to receive an e-mail, purporting to be from Cook, which mocked her use of the phrase "ravaged with it" to describe her condition. "When I opened up my e-mails and saw the message, it was the worst day of my life, even worse than being diagnosed with cancer," "I couldn't understand how anyone could behave like that. I'm critically ill. "I cried and cried for hours." http://www.skysports...7152758,00.html The old I was hacked defence. Edited September 5, 2011 by Epic Swindle

Rimbeux Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Whats made her go public now so long after the event?Maybe she wasn't satisfied with the way it was being dealt with
lfc003 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Maybe she wasn't satisfied with the way it was being dealt with Yeh i guess that could be it.
Swipe Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I once came out of a meeting with my manager and sent an email to a mate saying "mark is such a w*****". But sent it to mark himself. I spoofed my way out of it. Let's see if Cook can.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 yeah, they'll just fire (pay-off handsomely) some nobody & get them to sign an NDA about it all

Stevie H Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 garry cook was dead lucky that the hacker decided to send only one offensive email wasn't he? i mean when you think of all the people in cook's address book who they could have sent messages to like.
johngibo YPC Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I've done it in a text, not too bad thoughGarry Cook defo sent that email by the way

Bit odd for the hacker to address it to 'Brian' if they had divilment in mind. You'd think they might just address it directly to her and not put the name of Cook's mate at the top but they were obviously very determined to make it look like Cook had sent it, the terrible rascals. As you say, it's a good job they didn't send anything embarrassing to any other chief execs, any players, the FA or someone in the media. Edited September 6, 2011 by smithdown
floyd Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Sack Cook and repalce him with Kenyon or even Risdale, who would then ensure he'd find a way to even bankrupt Sheikh Mansour.

Leo No.8 Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 yeah, they'll just fire (pay-off handsomely) some nobody & get them to sign an NDA about it all Thats exactly what it sounded like they were doing - said something about 'a member of staff at the club being under disciplinary action'! It was Russian office junior Yrag Kooc.
Woodsyla Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Hands up who has sent a text/mail to the person who you are actually discussing in said mail/text - thankfully I only did it once and there was nothing offensive and no problem buts it the biggest faux-pas out there.Someone sent an instant message when I was giving a demo to a client and my boss was chewing my ear off because there were issues. A message popped up on my screen 'Is it take the piss out of <Woodsyla> day?' The person said they knew they were in trouble when she clicked send and all the people in the demo leant forward to read the screen.

Epic Swindle Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 What else has Garry Cook done? Keep hearing that he's total scum and done loads of iffy things? He's got great big flapping hands like a goalkeeper.
Raj Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 What else has Garry Cook done? Keep hearing that he's total scum and done loads of iffy things? Not much from what I can tell He's been likened to David Brent and he liked Thaksin ShinawatraHas done some decent things for the City fans though I reckon he defo sent that mail though. Why would someone only forward that mail and not take more information. Doesnt scan to me
Maldini Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 What else has Garry Cook done? Keep hearing that he's total scum and done loads of iffy things? He does gangster handshakes with all the players, don't know about anything else but that's enough to hate him in my book.
muleskinner Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Just seeing his face was enough to make my mind up. He's a right s***house.
