right, get the boom/bust cycle out. quick quick. We're good. we're very good. the team is starting to gel, that Henderson lad is going to be some footballer, reminds me a lot of David Beckham as a player when he first got into the glams side. Kenny has us playing, Suarez is the best player in the league, and we've still got Gerrard to come back. This is gonna be some season.

we just moved the ball around so well today, and its easy to dismiss it as only Bolton, but Bolton are no bad side, they're a better side than Sunderland. we're getting the ball in the box and we have players in there waiting for it. attacking in numbers is something thats been in short supply for a while now for us, not any more. Some poor decisions by the officials, had we scored 8 there today Bolton couldnt have complained. We're going to absolutely smash a team this year. really smash them!

f*** this international break. i want us to play again tomorrow! what a difference 12 months makes!

oh, and we're Top of the League!

Said the same thing about 3 weeks ago. Very similar style to how he passes the ball. Gonna be a great player for us.

Agreed, we look boss. International break might do us a favour this time, bit of rest and more recuperation time for the injured lads. Gerrard fit and linking up with Luis is mouth watering.

No Gerrard, No Meireles, No Johnson.

Coates to come in.

At the start of the the season I thought we were playing for 3rd / 4th place.

Now I am beginning to believe we can mount a challenge for the title.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves, the less expectation we put on ourselves the more we can continue playing with freedom. I think Wilkins is right, we're still behind the main two of Chelsea and the mancs, not so much in quality but mentality and experience.

i think the main 2 this year are the two manchester sides. dont think Chelsea will get near. they're labouring against s****. something isnt right at Chelsea. i think Boas has a job on his hands there

Movement off the ball is wonderful already, just three games in the coaching staff have done a brilliant job, God knows how good this could get. The togetherness is there to see too, this is a team already, make no mistake. One of the highlights was how pissed off Suarez was when he came off, he f*cking loves it here and just wants to play, play, play!

No bad situations at all apart from young Kelly getting hurt, also I can't quite believe how much of a bull Enrique is, he is one strong powerful lad and he shrugs people off like they're kids.

I love Kenny. :)

Think the biggest thing wrong there is that Lampard and Terry are past their best. And are both c***s.

Enjoyable to watch at the moment. We are looking like a proper team. Big away tests coming up at Stoke and Tottenham. If we get through with a good haul we go into October with really big games. That's the test now. Either way, win or lose, football is good again.

The thing that struck me most about today was how often we won possession back high up the pitch. With Kuyt and Suarez up front any time we get the ball in their third we're a threat, any aimless punt is dangerous because they've a good chance of getting on the end of it or forcing a mistake. Today was the best I've seen us play in I don't know how long, the quick passing and off-the-ball movement was exhilarating to watch and had me purring on numerous occasions. I still think we're currently short of another game changing player if Suarez is out or off-form but hopefully Gerrard returns on form and Bellamy can come in and help out. I can understand people hedging their bets and trying not to get carried away but momentum wins titles and if we keep winning you never f***ing know. We were as good as anyone in the league for the second half of last season and we've a far stronger squad this season. The next two games will be a test, we'll know a lot more about how our season will pan out after them.

Feels f***ing good at the moment though doesn't it!

We've got better with every game so far this season which is understandable with all the new lads coming in. Movement all over the shop and we look solid as f*** at the back (despite Carra's f*** up eh Wayne? Shame that like :)). We handled Davies brilliantly; Lucas was immense, Suarez is unplayable at times whilst Henderson, Enrique, Downing and Adam all looked every inch Liverpool players today. We've got great options from the bench and we're still without Gerrard, Johnson and Coates.

One game at a time and all that for me. F*cking loving it though.

Yup...same for me...the way he strokes the ball around reminds me of Beckham..have thought this for the last few weeks. Has a pass in him too and had an extra intensity today.. feet on the ground but let's hope he keeps growing in confidence and influence..

Last weeks result was the key to the performance today, it is obvious the belief it has given the side. Kenny has a way he wants us to play and the players are not only trying to play that way but are starting to believe in it as well. Gerrard coming back has been mentioned but imagine how desperate he is going to be, it will be (cliche alert) like signing a £20mill player. How nice is it to enjoy us playing the way we are, especially knowing we are only going to get better? I'm not setting any target but don't rule anything in or anything out.

Tough run of 5 games coming up.

If we are still top 4 by Norwich on 22 Oct i'll be made up.

Then we'll take it from there as far as expectations go

I agree with that. Think third is realistic for this season. I hope we better that, but I still think we've got a way to go before we're competing with City and United. I think we're better off not being seen as title contenders just yet. It'll be good for us to avoid that particular pressure for a while. We can just get on with getting better and only worrying about ourselves and see where that takes us.

Very encouraging signs, but obviously would be madness to get carried away because of 3 league games.

Stoke (A), Spurs (A) Wolves (H) Everton (A) and United (H) are our next 5 league games. Lets see where we are after those...

One thing that is clearly in our favour (but hopefully won't be next season) is the fact that we're not in Europe this season. Pretty much all our energy can go towards our weekly league games. That really could give us an advantage if we manage to go on a run and get in the mix...

Not going to write Arsenal off, but given the state they're in - psychologically as much as their weakened team - they could really struggle this season if they don't spash out a significant amount on new signings.

Edit: - The Manc game is on the 1 year anniversary of our new ownership.... something rather fate like about that...

Am I going overboard in saying this team is the most enjoyable to watch since Kenny's last reign? We are passing well, good tempo and flamboyance.

Maybe!

The team that finished second under Rafa was immense. Second half of the season I'd have expected us to roll over any team put in front of us.

Still, we look sharp right now. Exciting times.
