Gravy Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 As someone who hasn't been to the match for 3 years for a variety of reasons since I gave my st up, what's the low down on trying to get a couple of tickets for a home match bow? Is there still a priority scheme you ha e to join?

Members get priority for tickets, though it is still based on prior attendance recorded on your fancard. I was using a borrowed seasie last year so got no home credits on my fancard for the League, but got tickets for all games up to Christmas (they are selling them in batches) apart from Man Utd and yesterday. I eventually got one for yesterday when they had a late avaialability sale on Thursday. I assume the same may happen for other games currently down as 'Sold Out'.

Membership costs £30 a year and without it you've got pretty much no chance of getting to the game now. But you don't necessarily need prior attendance for match tickets. All tickets up until 31st December went on sale in July. Most tickets are now sold. However, as with Sunderland, some tickets might become available a day or two before the match. I think this is due to season tickets holders "returning" match tickets if they're unable to go.
Ethan Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 If you can get in with an Official Supporters Club you have a better chance of getting to a game - but you will need a membership card at a minimum
Epic Swindle Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 We could do with one of those new stadiums.
Sion Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 It looks like purchasing in advance was a colossal waste of time if we get Wednesday returns every game like we did for Sunderland. Added to that people will have bought tickets all over the ground in advance because it was the best they could get. Only for the returns to be in the middle of the Kop. Hope we get it for Bolton mind, as I haven't got that one yet.
Hassony Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 It was so easy getting tickets when Hodgson was in charge

Certainly the returns I got for Saturday (Upper Anny, right behind the goal) were better than some of the seats I've got for some of the upcoming games (Norwich is the 'Severely restricted' Lower Anny ones, presumably the ones right at the back where if everyone stands up you can't see anything because of the overhang of the roof).

They're not that bad those ones. The seats in the corner of The Kop/Centenary stand by the scoreboard are f*cking terrible. Edited August 15, 2011 by Murphman

Sion Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Are there any restricted tickets in the kop? There was one for Bolton around 207 I think it was and said restricted. Not sure how that's possible?

You just have to contort yourself a bit when the ball is up at the Anny Road end.
