Sion Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Time to look forward to the next game. Let comments on players and disagreements be gone (as well as posting nightmares) and we'll all march on happily to 3 points and forget about today Hopefully Arsenal will be without Fabregas, Nasri, Gervinho and Song Unless they sign someone in the next few days their line up likely to be something such as Szcz Sagna Verm Kosc Gibbs Djourou Ramsey Arshavin Rosicky Walcott VP Which is about the most beatable team we have ever faced at The Emirates. I think we'll go with Reina Johnson/Kelly Carra Agger Enrique Adam Lucas Kuyt Suarez Downing Carroll Which looks impressive on paper.

Florist Cinema Pond Goal Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Almost tempted to say Suarez up top on his own to avoid Lucas and Adam being overrun. With the players we have now we're set up nicely to counter attack.
CarraLegend Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 If we cant beat them now I'm gonna give up ever expecting to beat them away from home. Will still be tough but as said Fabregas will be gone, Nasri on the verge of going or lacking game time, Song should be banned, Gervinho banned, Ramsey doesnt look right, Arshavin doesnt look interested, a defence that can easily be got at, loads of tension at their ground and fans on the managers back. We've got a clear week of training now so hopefully we're ready. Will be interesting to see what he does in CM, Adam in a 2 leaves you a bit open and Spearing was outstanding at the Emirates last season. 3-0, Rosicky, Arshavin, Chamberlain.
Epic Swindle Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Almost tempted to say Suarez up top on his own I'd like to see that now and again, and also agree about Lucas and Adam getting over run. Think they'd struggle with the pace of Arsenal. I'd be tempted to gp with Lucas-Spearing.
muleskinner Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) Lucas and Adam need to play in CM again and I'll be amazed if they don't. Johnson or Kelly at RB will be the only change and rightly so. We will win. Possibly Dirk for Henderson. Edited August 14, 2011 by muleskinner
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 3-0, Rosicky, Arshavin, Chamberlain. ...Three own goals. No chance! Good time to play them, they have nothing without Fabregas, and RVP still has to prove he's back to his best.
Bliki Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 We just have to win and should do so. Arsenal are playing Udinese midweek and are weaker now than they have been in 15 years.
Michael Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Arsenal are always the team I am least confident of playing. Their short, almost portuguese, passing triangles so often open us up. I just want this game out of the way. Even a point would be a bonus for me.

I just want this game out of the way. Even a point would be a bonus for me. I used to feel this way far more than I do now, or to put it another way, their passing game too often lacks the end product that it used to have. And I bet their fans are scared at the thought of Carroll and Suarez. We've had some freakishly bad luck against Arsenal in the last few years, particularly at Anfield. They have a relatively tough mid-week Champions league qualifier too. I'll be really disappointed if we don't get at least a point, and I think we've got a great chance to win at the Emirates for the first time.
Swagger Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I hope Kenny sends out the same team as against Sunderland, with the exception of Kelly in at RB.
carrafan Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Arsenal are always the team I am least confident of playing. Their short, almost portuguese, passing triangles so often open us up. I just want this game out of the way. Even a point would be a bonus for me. Their pace and ability to have sheer numbers through the middle of midfield almost always hurts us. If Lucas shows his form of last year, we can win.
Falconhoof Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Will be interesting to see if they quickly dip into the transfer market, how they do against Udinese, and how quickly Wenger can lift te morale after losing his 2 best players. We should go there full of confidence and look to put them under presure. Won't be easy but we should edge it.
Joppo Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Difficult one for CM. Spearing or Adam to partner Lucas. Adam for his balls to AC´s head to trouble Arsenals CB´s or Spearing for his ankle chasing. I´d probably go for Sion´s team with Kuyt in for Henderson and either Kelly or Johnson in for Flanno.

Rory Fitzgerald Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 (edited) Hopefully there will be an injury or s*** performance during the week vs Udinese. Edited August 14, 2011 by Rory Fitzgerald
CarraLegend Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 They cant be so bold to give the king of corruption the Man Utd v Spurs game given how many times he's won Man Utd that match so surely that means he's either getting us or Sunderland v Newcastle. Please god dont let it be us.
lfc003 Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I'd be disappointed if Henderson starts and would be tempted to play Maxi, Raul or Downing on the right against them. Gibbs is a massive liability for them, He without fail always vacants his lb position when Arsenal have possession and is very weak defensively.
D.Boon Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Kelly needs to be starting this. Whats the news on Johnsons fitness?
Red2Core Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 The classic 10akhil Akhil Vyas Cesc fabregas IS on his way to barcelona. My mate works at the airport and just saw him. Even told me his flight number!
Montse Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 The FA are looking into Song's stamp on Barton so they could be missing him for the game
honourablegeorge Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Almost tempted to say Suarez up top on his own to avoid Lucas and Adam being overrun. With the players we have now we're set up nicely to counter attack. Carroll should be able to bully their defence. Depending on who the ref is.
Swipe Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 Weird for this to be on the early KO on Saturday. Usually gets a 4pm Sunday KO.
