The fact their owner is a bell end is a given. It's also a given that the club is a joke and the fans are annoying generally speaking.

 

What i do find unfair however, is the questions about the Andy Carroll money. This is a club that lived far beyond their means for many seasons.. They are trying to stabilize the club financially and they should be commended for that. It's almost as if they were not in div1 last year.

 

They need to clear excesses of living badly and live within their means and despite being complete bellends in many ways, if they are providing financial stability and prudence then good luck to them.

I think that is generally right, I also feel the abuse Ashley has received has brought out a desire to let their fans taste the reality of what they are and what they can afford and no longer put money in to give the people what they want. I still think that reality isn't understood or believed by the vast majority of them, mainly because they existed for 15 years on debt and Sir John Hall's money, believing it was all about them having 52k gates.

think they've actually got some decent players there. ba and cabaye could both be good signings. ben arfa started well last year before his injury. tiote's a good player. midfield could be decent. even if they don't keep barton on board. question marks over the defence, especially if they lose enrique. and team spirit which was a large part of they're form last season.

Derek L would say they've given out long contracts to a few players, taken a view not to on others, have bought in a few players, and have to run to budget.
