Today's Outlook question

When I delete a message, it just puts a line through it. And then I have to 'purge' it, so it's gone forever. At no point does any of this trouble my 'deleted items' folder.

 

Is there anyway of changing this so that when I delete something, it just puts it in the aforementioned deleted items folder and stops pissing about with all this purging bollicks?
