Mark Bowen was on SSN just before the draw was made and the panel was talking about how the fixtures are agreed between the various nations and he said something along he lines of;

 

' Wales will want 2-3 of the easier nations first in order to get 6-9 points on the board and then take the qualifying stages from there once there is some momentum '

 

Gordon McQueen and Lawrie Sanchez both chimed in pissing themselves laughing saying 'Wales are the easy team in the group, they're the Pot 6 nation'

 

The presenter jumped in and changed the subject, but it was golden

Winners don't automatically qualify - haven't done so since 2002 (that was the last one for a winner to automatically qualify).....so Brazil, winners in 2002, had to qualify for 2006.

In June's Fifa rankings the Faroe Islands were initially placed below Wales, but a 30-year-old Romanian computer programmer, Eduard Ranghiuc, who runs a football ranking website spotted that the Faroes should be 0.07 points better off than Wales.

 

That means Wales will be grouped alongside the likes of Liechtenstein, Iceland, Kazakhstan, Luxembourg, Malta, Andorra and San Marino.

The schedule has been decided now. You don't want to be E4 - group games in Manuas, Porto Allegre and Curitiba. Stinking hot 30 degrees in Manaus, then 5 or 6 degrees down in the southern Winter.
