Cracking game today between Brazil and the US. Brazil really discredited themselves with the time wasting, but it was as exciting as hell.

 

England France was alright too.

I was out for lunch at a local sports bar and the place went nuts when Wambach scored the equalizer in the 122nd minute, and again when they won on PK's.

 

5 minutes later, it was back to normal as we all watched baseball.

 

Sad to see that the English women are just as bad as the men when it comes to penalty shoot outs.

Women's football must be the only sport in the world that has to put up with that though.

For example there are club runners who would beat the best British women at 100m, but it doesn't get brought up everytime athletics is on the TV

Maybe its harsh on them, but when I've tried to watch women's football I can't help thinking that its not very good and I don't watch the whole game.

should do. especially when you have that women who are marginally good at something trying to take part in mens tournaments, as happens in the golf. you dont get rubbish men players trying to get on the womens tour. they should do away with men and womens sport, and just have sport.

What a great final today....I was watching BBC Three and streaming the Brazil - Paraguay game. The mens game today is definitely not a good advert for football.

 

The quality, excitement and even the players were better looking in the world cup final.

USA 1-0 & 2-1 up in the last 10 of normal time & last 5 of ET. Then into injury time in ET, a septic is taken out with a haymaker on the edge of the box as she's about to score, red card. Decent FK, ball bobbles about but won't go in. Pennos
