apparently so. the point was made back in about april or something that the sheikh was prepared to sign players this summer just to prevent rivals from strengthening. don't know how you prove it or anything but it does smell a bit that way.

Wouldn't be surprised, even with the two idiots running the show their, Cook and Marwood.

I see they have taken on Former Blackburn chairman John Williams who has been appointed to Manchester City's "Football Operations Department."

I can't fathom what their business model is, they must be praying Financial Fair Play isn't enforced.

think they believe they'll just loan out all the players they don't want in their match squad. but they could easily end up with a load of winston bogardes.

I bet it's corrupt as f*ck over there. Massive backhanders and introduction fees, wringing as much as they can out of it before the sheikh gets fed up of them.

....trying to hinder the rest of the top 4 by signing all their players/targets?

just a thought, that training ground must be a mausoleum.

Kenny's lobbing up Adam and Downing and when City snap we'll swiftly grab Mata and Alonso - easy

It's going to get to the point (if it hasn't already) where the majority of players City sign will be motivated by money more than ambition, which won't make for a successful team. They're clearly going to find some way to get round the financial fair play rules though.

That's bad news for everyone else. Williams is a decent football administrator... obviously brought in to keep Cook & Marwood's feet on the ground.

I heard Williams has been brought in to shift the players Cook and Marwood have bought in,who after another 12 months, are deemed not worthy, whilst the two fools go on another shopping spree, and grease the palms of certain individuals

They will and probably are going to find it very hard to shift the deadwood due to the rediculous wages they paying

City being City, it'll all end up being a farce, and then we can all go back, to laughing at them.

I think / hope that the first point will lead to the second. What they've done in order to sign players is to act in an absurdly short-term way. Although City have - mostly - signed a higher quality of player, than the crap that we have (Konchesky, Poulsen etc), their squad is absurdly bloated with people who they're paying stupid wages and stupid transfer fees for to ensure they signed. FFS, they still have Jo on their books.

We all know how footballers hate taking pay cuts, - particularly huge pay cuts - so they're going to struggle to get rid of a good dozen or so players who are probably costing approaching million pounds per week in total. And at the same time, I wonder how long it will be before the rich sheik gets bored of throwing away 20 million quid in losses from the likes of signing Robinho and Santa Cruz...
