I had a pint with my dad last night and he told me a story. Beer was invovled so details may be sketchy

Apparantly Bob Paisleys daughter (or grand daughter, can't remember now) was going through her loft the other day and found one of Bob Paisleys wallets. In it were three business cards that Bob Paisley had made. The front of it was standard stuff (address of Anfield, phone number etc) but the back was (presumably) all the same information but in Japanese. So presumably he got them made especially for the World Club Championship (or whatever it was called then) in 1981.

Anyway she takes three of them into a school in Liverpool (not sure on the connection here, THINK he said her husband worked there) and showed them to the head teacher who works there who is a mad red. Anyway she gives him one and he asks if he can have another one to give to another head teacher who he knows who would love to have it.

So then my dad pulls out Bob Paisleys business card in the pub. And its hard to explain why but it was very hard to look at anything else. It is in great condition. Presumably because its been in a wallet for 30 years untouched

Lovely story, but half way though I'll tell you how I thought this anecdote was going to end. I thought you'd go on to say that the card with Japanese writing on it was given to a teacher, who knew the language, to translate, and that he revealed it was details of some Niponese school girl porno bukake type establishment, thereby exposing Sir Bob's secret predilictions.

Actually, could you rework this story to that effect. Cheers John.

I'd have preferred it if it translated as "Bells whisky exports, all sizes available"

:D It would have been good if Bob was using the trip as a business opportunity

And we were in the Edinburgh on Sandown Lane

I got to that bit and laughed. Sorry.

Worth keeping that.

Top story.

It's strange but although I was obsessed with LFC during the Paisley years, I barely ever remember hearing him speak or be interviewed. I know TV was different but Atkinson or Allinson were always on the box. My main memory if Bob is holding trophies up grinning and going up the steps at Wembley to get the cup that year.

Steve Done, the museum curator, would be dead interested in one of those I'd expect.

is that the guy that keeps one eye on the artifacts and one eye does whatever it likes?
