Stag trip advice

I've been tasked with organising my mates stag trip and one of the venues we're considering is Manchester. My brother's said he knows of someone who had a stag do there and had problems getting into bars around Deansgate. Just wondering if anyone on here had experience of being out in Manchester with a group of lads (there'll be 17 of us so would probably split into a few smaller groups each time we moved bars).
