so i bought one of those Tefal griddle pans with the glowing ring :unsure:

 

i let my steak sit a room temperature with some olive oil drizzled over it and seasoned with salt & pepper.. heat the pan and once the ring is glowing add the steak.. once it's almost done i add some mushrooms and garlic butter and then serve with some homemade chips.. lovely..

 

but, i've read that i should let the steak 'rest' for a bit - if i do that it goes cold.. are these cheffy books assuming i have a restaurant style hotplate at home or something?! if not whats the answer to this? also, the wife's out at her mates new house tomorrow so i have time to "pimp my steak" - any good (quite quick) recipes? :thumbs:
