If you get chance go and see the 'Like you've never been away' exhibition of Paul Trever photographs taken in Liverpool in 1975.

It's free and at The Walker Art Gallery till September.

It focuses on the Everton and Toxteth areas and mostly on the kids playing in the streets and waste grounds of each area.

Liverpool looks like a post war city and the poverty depicted is startling. It shows how the city and society in general have changed so much in 35 years. Of course the kids don't really realise they are living in deprived areas as everywhere is one big playground. The photographer is trying to trace the kids he photographed. He's had some success but the lad holding the frame up sadly took his own life.

It's an excellent exhibition and well worth catching if you can.
