Better for him to play regularly at a lower level than play second fiddle to Gibbs in the U-21's.

 

Just looking at the England U-21 wikipedia, the U-21's such a bad barometer for what a player might become. Franny Jeffers is joint all time top scorer, with Carl Cort not far behind. And David Prutton has the 9th highest amount of caps.

This was just the final qualifying round, the actual tournament takes place in July. England went out on goal difference to Spain which is a shame because it's the best England team I've seen for a while, they're very young though, the bulk of the team is still eligible to play u19 next season.
