Bit-part player in the 1970s....think he left for Middlesborough in the mid 70s ? Made less than 100 appearances I think.

I always think of him and Brian Hall as being similar players from the same time. How accurate that is I'm not sure, but in my 7 year old head, that's the way I remember em both.

Once scored a goal like Fairclough's against Everton - half the length of the pitch and dribbled past about 5 defenders, so clearly had something about him, but generally managed to keep it well hidden. Something went on between him and Thommo in Souness's time as well, didn't it?
