Bologna Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 This is one for the polyglots for now. Betting, as per usual, is the raison d'etre. Beppe Signori among those arrested.I can't be arsed translating the whole thing. I'm sure it will be all over the UK media very soon. http://www.repubblica.it/sport/calcio/2011/06/01/news/calcio_scommesse_cremona-17052691/?ref=HREA-1
CarraLegend Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Long may it continue, it's a money making machine.

CarraLegend Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Atalanta-Piacenza del 19 marzo 2011 That was absolutely epic! I remember waking up on the saturday, checking betfair and Atalanta HT/FT had been pounded, so went on 365, luckily they still had it at 5/6, then watched as a Piacenza player done a pointless handball in his own area, penalty 1-0, another player done a pointless barge in his own area, penalty 2-0, and then the goalie just dived on the floor for no reason when a cross come in and 3-0 at half time. The keeper was a bit suspicious on Doni's penalties aswell.
drdooom Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 This spring in Finland 9 players in one team were arrested for taking bribes and another whole team was thrown out of the top division. In the latter case the club officials themselves had recieved money from the same singaporean guy who bribed the others. The start of the season (it's over the summer here) was delayed while they sorted out the new fixtures, classy stuff. Apparently the fee for throwing a game in the Veikkausliiga is 25000 euros, I wonder what it is in serie B..
Bologna Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 400,000 euro for Seria A, 120,000 for B and 50,000 for serie c (lega pro) according to this article http://www.repubblica.it/sport/calcio/2011/06/01/news/tariffario_partite-17074744/?ref=HRER2-1
Bologna Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 The plot thickens. The following Serie A matches are now under investigation with 300,000 euro quoted as the price to fix a game.
