surf Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 So Hammam has withdrawn from the FIFA presidency nominations, leaving Blatter as the only candidate. FIFA make North Korea look like a well run democratic entity. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-13587449
New York Red Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I really hope that he gets exposed too. I want that organization in tatters. They are a joke.
dave Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 This guy doing the presser needs to get to the point. Worse than RFH.
Gunga Din Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 the top european countries need to break away and start a new organisation, because FIFA has become a joke
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 step fwd Platini Blatter is as much a joke as Berlusconi
Epic Swindle Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) They don't like the brits do they They'll just let Warner take the fall and carry on as normal. There's far too much money and politics involved now. David Conn all over them, they've turned the mics off. c**** Edited May 29, 2011 by Epic Swindle
surf Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 step fwd Platini Blatter is as much a joke as Berlusconi just read thishttp://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/13590264.stm first thing that came to my mind was berlusconi levels of corruption
Cobs Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 FIFA are a feckin disgrace, if ever there was an organisation that needed blowing up and starting again it's them
Cam Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 the top european countries need to break away and start a new organisation, because FIFA has become a jokeThat's my hope. A few of the major Euro nations to get together and put an ultimatum to Platini - "with us or against us". Then solicit various important FAs around the world ("do you want a chance of hosting a World Cup again or are you happy pumping $$$ milions into a bid only to see it go to another Qatar?". If the money-important places like England (and the other 4 home nations would surely follow), Spain, Germany, Italy, the US and Japan sign up the likes of Brazil & Argentina will want a slice of the $$$ pie. Arrange and start promoting an alternative World Cup for 2018 and it'll be game over. If the FA stil wants to the seen as the leaders of the game then it needs to start this off.
Tosh Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 The FA? You mean OUR FA? The one that we constantly deride for beng the most useless and ineffective bunch of old farts on the planet who couldn't organise an afternoon tea?
Cam Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Yep. This is their chance to dispel all that. Obviously I'm not expecting it. But it'd be nice, wouldn't it?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 only one thing to do - YNWA Forumites create that organization. WE start the breakaway Who's with me? Charge!!

Epic Swindle Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 So the head of the 'ethics' committee admits he said in an email that Quatar had bought the WC, but didn't tell the 'ethics' committee at the time? It's like the mafia.
drdooom Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 "I also indicated that at the Miami CONCACAF Congress on May 3rd Mr. Blatter made a gift of one million USD to CONCACAF to spend as it deems fit. This annoyed President Michel Platini who was present and he approached Secretary General Jerome Valcke complaining that Mr Blatter had no permission from the Finance Committee to make this gift to which Jerome replied that he will find the money for Mr Blatter." Really looking forward to seeing as much public washing of dirty linen as possible from this.

Spion kop Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 nobody talks about climate change any more.Jack Warner is refusing to be the fall guy, he's threatening to release all the information.
RP Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I think this is all going to properly come to a head this time. Looks like there are enough people p***ed off now to go through with spilling the beans.
Swan Red Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 I think this is all going to properly come to a head this time. Looks like there are enough people p***ed off now to go through with spilling the beans. I hope so I've missed a good soap opera since our ownership was being dealt with
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 surely an ethics committee should be independent? This one doesn't appear so
John am Rhein Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 best option: english FA breakaway, everyone else stays in FIFA
New York Red Posted May 30, 2011 Posted May 30, 2011 Any chance of a re-vote on the 2018 & 2022 WC's?
