Ibby Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 anyone on here on sky broadband and think the router that they give as standard is a pile of rubbish? it hardly transmits any kind of wireless signal - its so bad for me that when i move with the laptop from the living room (where the router is) to the front room i hardly get any wireless signal. I have purchased a wireless range extender which does help downstairs, but as the signal is so bad in the first place i am hardly getting anything upstairs. Which brings me to the question - has anyone managed to use a different router to the one that sky issue for their broadband? I know that sky do not issue the username and password which is what you need to transfer on any other router, and its a breach of their t&c's but i am past caring now and want to use another router. Have looked it up on google and there are ways in which it can be done but just wanted to guage other folks opinions who may have undertaken the task and whether they were successful or not?
