My word.

That's a staggering thing to put on the official website.

The Poznan explanation.... Jesus.

(Despite CarraLegend thinking I sit at home in my bedroom and make this up), the firm I recently left provided a consultant for 12 months to City (reporting directly to Gary Cook) for the usual bollix of "looking for opportunities to increase revenue streams" and 'enhancing the consumer experience". His stories of Marwood's and particularly Cook's arrogance were priceless.

A paraphrasing of some of Cook's sayings - he thinks he's a Gordon Geko but is a Brent-lite character;

"Every player has a price - but only City can afford every player."

"Fans are only loyal to success - we will buy them the success they want"

"Don't be afraid of paying big for a player, only small clubs fear big fees".

"Success means we’ll be welcoming a new generation of City fans from here in England and all over the globe, too, and when our new followers come on board, they’ll be welcomed with open arms into our ‘family’."

They prefix that with a statement that they have the best fans in the world. Not that we can fill the ground, obviously.

Bet you're not feeling so defensive about the Poznan now?!

"It’s worth noting that from 1923 to 2003 we played our home games at Maine Road."

It's worth noting?!

"There may be the odd person who tries to trip you up with the terms ‘massive’ or ‘Man City’ – please ignore these are we are now accepting these words in general club usage!"

What does that even mean.

Defensive? I think the Poznan is good. I think that that statement is rubbish.

Man City, out placcy-ing Chelsea

At least - for their myriad of other faults - the other Manchester club can play decent football and win the odd bit of silver The stuff mancini serves up is dire for all the cash spent and they have (as yet) won nothing

the sort of hard-hitting commercial savvy that helped them land kaka of course.

I really don't mind City as far as other Premier League clubs go. They share a mutual loathing for United, and to give them their dues they were still getting 25-30,000 in the 2nd division as it was.

Silly article but doesn't make me get worked up or anything.

No references to popular neck garments, so I'm norravintha'.

Dangerous thread title this. If you look in the thread index page it has "Thinking of becoming a Man...... by matty" :)

I suppose I'm thinking of it now until the next post at least

Not so daft. I am extremely well-placed to offer advice in this sphere.
