Some footballers can get court orders for "tarts" to be quiet. As I was officially not a "tart" I can say what I like!

True story coming up here about Alan Smith - sounds a bit fyds/L4Lad-esque but I assure you this is true. No real way of verifying it like so you'll have to take my word for it.

I met him in a Leeds nightclub (Tiger Tiger) in 2007, he was there on a student night. I went up to him quite drunk and gave him a bit of s*** for moving to United, in a jokey way. I think he was quite pleased that someone was talking footy instead of staring at him and taking pictures. I bummed up to him saying 'you shoulda gone to Liverpool' and he told me that Rick Parry tried to sign him but we had no manager at the time. Not sure which year he meant there - didnt ask either for some reason. I asked him how he felt playing in midfield and he just shrugged. I then said 'but surely you're better than Ameobi' and he went 'miles better'. He then waxed lyrical about Owen saying that he can understand him playing ahead of him but not Ameobi claiming he was 's****'. I then asked him why the hell hes being so open about all this, and that I could be from the paper and he went, in a really Yorkshire accent, 'you dont look like you're from paper'. That was pretty much it then and I went back to my mates. What kind of footballer goes to a student night anyway?!

I also met Aaron Lennon in the Arc in Leeds and told him he shoulda joined Liverpool to which he just smiled - and also saw Robinho in Space on the night he was accused of rape. He was with a student girl when I saw him in the VIP bit.

Alan Smiths a c**k, like.

Lovely stuff.

Here's a fun fact: shola ameobi has made 233 appearances for newcastle.

Can anyone remember anything he's ever done?

Not bad for a single-celled organism.

I am baffled that he's had that many appearances. His record is like 1 in 5 aswell which is atrocious considering he hardly does anything else helpful.

He set up Alan Shearer's record goal!

Wikipedia can go f*ck itself in the face if it can't even get that right.

It does have it right, they only quote the league games in the section under his name and photo, the total games played is in the section down near the bottom.

Newcastle footballers do. It's where they pick up the best young meat for a spit roast.

Ameobi looked fecking massive at the weekend. He was never Messi but surely footballing abilities are limited if your upper body is that of Hulk Hogan's?

It's like he'd stopped taking advice from coaches & physios and started taking tips from Purple Aki.

Cracking Carl Cort impersonator tbf

classic bobby robson story.

football focus: "so what's your club nickname shola?"

ameobi: "i don't really have one"

FF: "oh come on, sure you do. what does bobby robson call you in training then?"

ameobi (forlornly): "carl cort"

Ameobi is awful, one of the worst "footballers" I have ever seen.

His brother plays for the Newcastle Reserves so, there could be another Ameobi in the Newcastle squad for the next ten years too. Poor gets.

Houllier was after him, as I recall, but got the boot. If I recall correctly, the story went that we assured him we still wanted to do the deal but he got cold feet due to GH going and plumped for Utd for fear of having to spend a year (ha!) in The Championship.
