jonnyc Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Bizarre top...is that even official?? Is it an early Warrior prototype
Andy @ Allerton Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Bizarre top...is that even official?? Is it an early Warrior prototype talking to someone yesterday and they reckon the 'warrior' thing won't be on the actual shirt and that it's a redistribution deal? Anyone heard about that?
Earl Hafler Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 The legend has a reason http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/apr/07/lebron-james-liverpool
Benzo-13 Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 It's just one of the tops off the online shop. (Stats or Firenze Polo?)Good to see this kind of aggressive push though.

abc Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Still don't like Lebron. For those who don't know what he's like, think of him as the Cristiano Ronaldo of basketball but without the league or CL titles. Immensely talented, a freak of nature who can do just about everything he puts his mind to. Except that Ronaldo put in all the hard yards to make sure he can hit shots with his left foot, and takes advantage of his height by working on his heading ability. You get the idea... (Lebron still hasn't developed a solid post game because he probably feels like he doesn't need to given the rest of his game is pretty polished). As for the person, imagine if Gerrard who has been LFC's great hope (again without the FA/League/UEFA Cup and CL medals) wound down his contract 3 years ago during the peak of his career. Adidas then put together an hour long segment on Sky Sports (after a few days as a free agent) during which he gets interviewed and eventually announces the team of his choice. Without telling LFC his decision beforehand. To join Chelsea.

Still reckon if we are going down this line then get the likes of Tendulkar signed up too!

Brilliant piece of publicity for us that though.
CarraLegend Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Lebron is god. And as cringeworthy as "the decision" was, it did raise a few million for charity. Anyway, Cleveland or Miami? No one or Wade? They should be grateful they had him for so long.

Still reckon if we are going down this line then get the likes of Tendulkar signed up too! So it's OK to sh*t on the city/fans who idolise you? It's brand association. Not just the athlete, but the personality. That "decision" segment was greeted by many/most in the basketball circle (ex-players and fans alike) as very poor behavior. I think even the head of the NBA had a strong word with him and his camp afterwards. If he was a footballer everyone would say he's a fantastic talent but in terms of profile, not a Liverpool player. But a perfect fit for Man Utd / Real Madrid. That said, I want our club to be successful so gotta take the bad with the good I suppose. If this publicity means more money being invested into the team then great. Deal with the legion of plastic fans later I guess... Tendulkar - now that is someone you'd want associated with our club.

Typical Yank overreaction.
Earl Hafler Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 Who gives a s***. He's clearly a boyhood red. FA Cup memories, jumpers for goalposts...
Swipe Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 FA Cup memories, jumpers for goalposts... Favourite LFC player growing up was Robbie Keane. LeBron gets us.
Farmer's Tan Posted May 2, 2011 Posted May 2, 2011 its a t shirt. if i put it on it would probably be a jumper but when he wears it it's a t-shirt...
Hassony Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 Favourite LFC player growing up was Robbie Keane. LeBron gets us. always played with Liverpool on FIFA
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted May 3, 2011 Posted May 3, 2011 I couldn't give a s*** about all this LeBron business. If it brings in a few quid then fair enough.
honourablegeorge Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Little snippet. He couldn't wear an Adidas jersey 'cos of his Nike links. http://www.sportingintelligence.com/2011/05/03/lebron-james%E2%80%99-value-to-liverpool-up-to-1m-per-minute-in-us-tv-advert-spend-030502/

The reporter says $1M a minute but we actually couldn't buy exposure like that.
Hassony Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Am I right in saying that we have had more exposure because of this LeBron stunt in america than united have despite them touring the US every year?
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 Am I right in saying that we have had more exposure because of this LeBron stunt in america than united have despite them touring the US every year? Really a shame then he was wearing such a rubbish shirt.
