An Epic Swindle: 44 Months with a Pair of Cowboys

Got the Kindle version earlier.

Gone through a third of the book - pretty decent so far. At the point where Rafa is wandering around the streets of Athens with no room to go back to.

PS: Doesn't make sense how an electronic version of a book is more expensive than a hardcopy one...

Electronic versions attract 20% VAT whilst hardcopy version are zero rated. Having said that, it's still mad like. One of the reasons I haven't got a Kindle. I reckon I'd need to see the Kindle version at 50% of the price of a hardcopy version before I'd be tempted.

Tempted to get the book, but I'm guessing 99% of the interesting stuff will be quoted over-and-over anyway.

he asked for a bed, they got him a sofa in the lobby. or something.

Apparently there was a room but the mini bar was locked, he had to pay for internet access, the ensuite had only a shower (no bath), and there was no kettle in it to make himself a cup of tea. Rafa was always about the details.

Well for one thing you get it on time. I pre ordered a copy off amazon and it hasn't even been dispatched yet. Estimated delivery is 5th May. By the time i get it i'll have already been told all about the good bits.

Also all the TV channels were Greek ones apart from 'BBC world' which Rafa found a bit boring as it only shows that Angela Lansbury detective show and the news, and the odd programme about otters. Also there was only one option on the pay porn channel and he'd already seen that one loads.

What a f*cking shambles our club was under Parry, mind boggling how such an incompetent twot could get and retain the job for so long.

I can't see Henry letting Ayres get away with the rubbish Parry was allowed to.

I still think there was a decent administrator within Coco but he needed firm management - and was never going to get that from Moores.

Don't think there's any question of Ayres "getting away with it". Judging by the Standard Chartered and Warrior deals, he's no f***ing joke.

aye seems to have a head for numbers and the ability to add a zero to the end of any deal we do, a great man to have on the board using his financial brain to benefit the club.

On chapter 10 so far. Well worth the read.

Those excerts we saw from the mirror are somewhat out of context, which is not suprising when you're trying to flog a book.

As for Rafa being painted in a bad light, well no he isn't so far. Reade is being reasonably frank about everyone.

All of his incompetence in the transfer market pales in comparison at his monumental f*ck up in selling to those two scumbags. How was it that a chief executive couldn't LITERALLY spend five minutes on research on Hicks and Gillett and see how they had a long record of bankruptcy, lies, and failure. FFS Hicks practically invented the LBO and that tosser Parry didn't think that his claims were dubious?

It was f*cking obvious at the time it was going down. It still makes me fume at what happened.
