aka Dus Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 "regularly plays in goal for the Liverpool Masters team" d'oh Ha ha, nice one. Just shows how well I am using my Sky subscription. Ok then: Lee Jones.
aka Dus Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 Mike Hooper Shoot magazine told me once that Mike Hooper had a degree in English Literature. And with that head on him, I choose to believe he is somewhere writing a PhD on Chaucer or maybe even someone like F Scott Fitgerald. Wkik says Lee Jones is still at NEWI Cefn Druids? Googling is not cool.
Cam Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Googling is not cool.Seriously, how else are we meant to know where a bit-part reserve player for 2 decades ago is meant to be? Alan Hansen, Craig Johnston, Michael Owen, even Julian Dicks... but Lee Jones?
floyd the barber Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 what about the kid we signed who was set to be the next big thing ...wayne harrison?anyone have any idea?

Pretend you're in the pub and there's no internet, like the way football fans used to talk! what about the kid we signed who was set to be the next big thing ...wayne harrison?anyone have any idea? Was there not a whatever happened to Wayne Harrison thread here (or was it on Guardian Football?) What's Jimmy Carter doing these days I wonder.
Gunga Din Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 What's Jimmy Carter doing these days I wonder. isnt he in Noerth Korea trying to get Kim Jong Il to calm the f*** down
aka Dus Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 isnt he in Noerth Korea trying to get Kim Jong Il to calm the f*** down We always knew we never saw the best of him. Saw an article on David Speedie the other day. He met some Howareya from the Liberties and now he's moved to Dublin to be with her and is coaching a team in the United Churches League in Dublin. Got me thinking about all these ex reds.
Cam Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Pretend you're in the pub and there's no internet, like the way football fans used to talk!Football... before the internet... nah, that's bo11ocks that is. Never happened. Going against myself here but I know about Harrison without looking it up... had various injuries - including falling through a greenhouse - and retired at an early age. Ended up as a fork-lift driver.
diggy Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 We always knew we never saw the best of him. Saw an article on David Speedie the other day. He met some Howareya from the Liberties and now he's moved to Dublin to be with her and is coaching a team in the United Churches League in Dublin. Got me thinking about all these ex reds. By all accounts she is connected to certain Dublin families and Speedie was receiving alot of attention from the Garda as a result. Hasn't he turned out for this team as well on the odd occasion?

Ended up as a fork-lift driver. It's good to share. I don't even know what the likes of Julian Dicks is doing these days. Last I remember, he was trying to be a golfer..? Torben Piechnik is probably doing something interesting. I want to know what it is.
Cam Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I heard Dicks being interviewed over the weekend (maybe yesterday) - he's a manager at some non-League club. I'd love to hear his teamtalks.

Spike Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Mike Hooper is a bouncer in Newcastle the last I read in some interview (or it may have been a running joke on here that I didn't get)
Gunga Din Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Sean Dundee is back in South Africa and is a beekeeper with more than 2500 hives!
Cam Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Seriously, how else are we meant to know where a bit-part reserve player for 2 decades ago is meant to be?Again shooting myself in the foot but I'm sure I read in a fanzine that Ashley Neal is now a driving instructor. Who was the fella that often played alongside Lee Jones?
aka Dus Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 Sean Dundee is back in South Africa and is a beekeeper with more than 2500 hives! Erik Meijer is back in Holland but is a patron of AFC Liverpool. Not sure if that is his full time job, however.
Cam Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Haukur Ingi Gudnasson Nah, it's not him I'm thinking of. Maybe went to Wrexham eventually.
aka Dus Posted April 26, 2011 Author Posted April 26, 2011 Again shooting myself in the foot but I'm sure I read in a fanzine that Ashley Neal is now a driving instructor. Who was the fella that often played alongside Lee Jones? Daniel Sjolund? Plays for AIK Solna.
