Conditional formatting

I went to use some conditional formatting where the rule was to apply if certain words appeared in cells but that doesn't appear to be an option (I'm on Excel 2003). But I know I've used it in the past. Is this something new for Excel 2007 (or newer) or am I missing a plugin (like you need for the EOMONTH formula)?
