I bought a new car recently and purchased a 3 year warranty which was added to the finance costs.

The company has now gone into administration so I got a letter from the Administrators saying the company was in no position to make any payment regarding the warranty (including refunds) and that any claim should now be made to the Administrators.

In other words, it's as good as useless.

Based on my limited knowledge of these situations I don't think I have any chance of getting either any service from the warranty itself, or even a part refund. I do wonder though whether I can request to the finance company that the warranty amount be removed from the agreement, purely on the basis I am not getting the service or products the agreement was based on.

Slim chance I know and it's not the end of the world but it's pissed me off none the less. Equally if there's any other common recourse to action in these circumstances I'd be pleased to hear it.
