_00_deathscar Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Flanagan's got one, and Jack Robinson deserves one too! Not that I've seen many youth team games, but from what I've seen and heard, Jack Robinson is actually the better of the two. Add in the fact that he's younger and quicker (and to me looks more composed) and we've got a heck of a player here.* *I've mockered him, haven't I?
Hodgson for Chelsea Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Having Spearing Flanaghan and Robinson in the side playing so well and Kenny as manager. It's like a beautiful, beautiful dream
John am Rhein Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 What number does Jackie Robinson have? Ought to be 42
Ombudsam Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Flanagan's looked better in the actual first team
schmuckdonald Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Flanagan's looked more assured, but Robinson looks capable of doing more. Both doing very well considering their age.

Big Red Machine Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I think Flanagan has looked better in the first team because he's been playing with someone in front of him, which has let him get forward more too. We basically don't have anyone playing left mid as it stands so Robinson (is rightly) being more conservative.
Earl Hafler Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Having Spearing Flanaghan and Robinson in the side playing so well and Kenny as manager. It's like a beautiful, beautiful dream What a truly apesh1t, off the wall, teapot and all other kinds of crazy season it has been Thank Dalglish for Dalglish
Logic Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Thank Dalglish for DalglishTsk tsk.... shouldn't that be Thank Robbie Fowler for King Kenny?
Maldini Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I wouldn't say one is better than the other yet, they're both excellent prospects with different playing styles. Robinson is like Aurelio, composed and classy and Flanagan is like Gerrard when he played full back, flying into tackles and getting forward Better than Maldini I should hope so
Earl Hafler Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Robinson is like Aurelio Let's bloody hope not !
Epic Swindle Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Robinson is definitley the better player They're both still only 18 and learning the game, bit early for rash judgements. I'm sure both will develop into good solid full backs with their own stand out attributes.
KD07 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I'd like to see both working on their crossing in the meantime. Excellent prospects, them both. Trumps the Brazilian fanny twins anytime.
Gomez Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Having Spearing Flanaghan and Robinson in the side playing so well and Kenny as manager. It's like a beautiful, beautiful dream As any parent of a young child will know, Jack Robinson is the name of the kid that Mr Cool takes on all the cool adventures in the Mr Men books. Not really relevant or anything though.
épieur Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Trumps the Brazilian fanny twins anytime. steady now ffs.
Clay Davis Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Always preferred Robbo to Flanno when I saw them at reserve level, love full backs who can pass the ball, and I think Maldini is right with the Aurelio comparison. Flanno though has really, really impressed me. He's been absolutely class. As for Robinson, I think we'll bring in a left back this summer and Robbo can be his understudy. I think that'll be great for him, with him getting the League Cup and (fingers crossed) Europa League games. Always resent him a bit though, as his name is very similar to mine, and he goes/went to the school down the road from my old one. But its him not me. Prick.
Hassony Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 I hate the fact that I am old enough to be Robinson's father
Spiblish Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 What number does Jackie Robinson have? Ought to be 42This
Conor Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Just compared them on yesterday's performance on the guardian chalkboards feature. Interesting results.
Farmer's Tan Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 i think robinson has an advantage of raw pace over flanagan which gives him a big advantage.i dont think flanagan would have handled walcott as well as robinson did.Flanagan had carra babysitting and kuyt working his a*** off as per usual where as robinson had meireles and maxi yesterday, not exactly the same cover.I can see flanagan having difficulty with very pacey wingers.
torn Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I think Flanagan has looked better in the first team because he's been playing with someone in front of him, which has let him get forward more too. We basically don't have anyone playing left mid as it stands so Robinson (is rightly) being more conservative.Think Flano is a bit more developed physically, Robbo still looks like a skinny kid.
allez les rouges Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Flannos short first time forward passes are boss. Very composed on the ball when sorounded by lots of players. Very impressive.
