JOVANOVIC REGRETS REDS MOVE

 

Out-of-favour Milan Jovanovic has admitted his move to England last summer was a mistake.

 

The Serbia international was signed on a free by Rafa Benitez, only to see the Spaniard leave Anfield to be replaced by Roy Hodgson before he arrived.

 

And a further managerial change has left him feeling further disillusioned, having started just two games since current boss Kenny Dalglish took the reins in January.

 

"If I would move to Italy or Germany I would be happier than in England - my life would be nicer," he told Sportske. In Belgium I was living in an area where there were so many people from Serbia and my life was different, more dynamic.

 

"Liverpool is such a different place. I'm here alone, without anybody. I'm just a very lonely stranger. If I wouldn't have my wife and my kids I just couldn't speak Serbian with anybody.

 

"Liverpool is a club which you can't refuse; my only regret is that the coach who brought me to Anfield left the club before my arrival. If Rafa Benitez had stayed, I believe everything would have been different for me.

 

"There were 15 other clubs which followed me but I chose Liverpool and made a mistake."

me too, hopefully he'll find another club in the summer

 

don't really have an issue with his attitude on the pitch (like voronin), he just wasn't good enough

 

pretty sure he speaks good english as well

Should have got him a loan or sold him in January, its been a disastrous move for him and the club.

the implication in that article is he has no one to talk to but his wife and kids because no one speaks Serbian, hence his lonliness

He says there's nobody to speak Serbian with, whereas in Belgium he lived in an area with other Serbians.

 

His family aren't happy, he's not playing. He's on his way out anyway. Thinks it was a mistake, explains why. Nothing to criticise him about here.

About the only bunch there isn't in Liverpool is serbs.

Getting him and Poulsen shifted for a reasonable return will be halfway to a great Summer's work.

I don't think he is good enough to play really, but he is unlucky that the coach who thought he was good enough for us never actually managed him.

 

He'll have to move on, but I do feel sorry for him. He's basically wasted a year of his career because of our managerial turmoil. A year that could have been spent at a club that would actually make use of him.

I'm actually surprised he didn't play more, he's big and early on looked to be one of the quickest players we have.

 

On the left of Roys favoured 'cardboard box' 4-4-2 he didn't stand a chance.

 

Guess we will never know.
