Antynwa Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 The Anti-Football of Stoke has made the FA Cup Final after a 5-0 Victory. Arsenal bottle it again, on the verge of another trophies season. Football is funny
Hassony Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 If City win the fa cup and finish out side the top four, does sixth place gets a uefa cup place?

Hassony Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Stoke don't think so city will qualify as the fa cup winners, which opens up another place in the league
Rimbeux Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 (edited) don't think so city will qualify as the fa cup winners, which opens up another place in the leagueI get you now Three Europa places, Brum have one, FA Cup have the other, then it's league. The FAC runner up gets the call over next best placed league finish if the winner comes in 5th. City would have to finish 6th I think. Scratch that. I dont think it's possible. FA Cup runners up get the place if the winners already qualify, if they dont qualify, then the 5th place team gets Europa as is. Edited April 17, 2011 by Rimbeux
smithdown Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 How the feck do you concede 5 in a semi final? Against Stoke? That's shocking that. A proper balls up.
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Brum don't yet have one as they have to convince the FA/UEFA or some f***** that they're financially stable, otherwise they're out on their ear. How come only 18 mo or so ago they were bragging about having 'loadsa money' and trying to buy Babel for 12m? Good f***ing job we didn't sell in hindsight

Saw something the other day which said that 6th with get europa is city win the cup and finish 5th
johngibo YPC Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Saw something the other day which said that 6th with get europa is city win the cup and finish 5th Yer wha?
Hassony Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Yer wha? city win the cup and finish 5th means that the sixth place team will get the europa cup place (city will qualify as the fa cup winners)
Tosh Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Time to support Spurs in the league and City in the Cup then
Sion Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Its confusing this one. Down to what has preference in terms of qualification, winning the FA or the league position. If its winning the FA - if City win it and finish 5th, 6th place will get Europa. If its the other way around, then Stoke will get the place However, if it is the first way around then there's a serious issue as Stoke play Man City AFTER the FA Cup final. Therefore you could get a case of Stoke losing on purpose in order to see Man City qualify for the CL and see them into the EL after City's FA Cup place gets handed to them. Needs claification, this does. Edit: we could actually be the in the same position as Stoke, in terms of leting Spurs beat us. Edited April 18, 2011 by Sion
Hassony Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I think I'd rather city get the champion league spot than spurs
sutty Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 I'd rather us not get in the europa league Dogs*** competition Its confusing this one. Its a bit of a s**** rule to be honest. It should just go to the losing finalist if that event occurs
johngibo YPC Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Someone on twitter reckons 6th will get Europa if Man City finish 4th, but not if they finish 5thOdd
sutty Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 Someone on twitter reckons 6th will get Europa if Man City finish 4th, but not if they finish 5thOdd No, that's wrong. If they finish outside of top 4 they would get their europa qualification as a result of winning the cup 1st, in which case the FA cup slot "goes" to them If they finish in the top 4, the fa cup slot goes to stoke. If you see what I mean

Swipe Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 don't think so city will qualify as the fa cup winners, which opens up another place in the league Apparently there's still some confusion to this. Iain Macintosh was talking about it on twitter today. The FA told him one thing and the Premier League told him the complete opposite when he asked about it.
