sutty Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 In the summer, when KK declared his interest in the job I advocated hodgey ahead of him. :badlywrong:
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Most of my posts here are pretty ill-conceived.

That one has been on my conscious for quite some time now.
Gravy Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I told my wife that we had bought a player twice as good as Drogba for half the price - Cisse. Oops
Des Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Stevie H to thread with special emphasis on "French players we have signed."

I was saying "Kenny has been out the game for too long and Hodgson knows the league and the modern game" Turns out the Hodge assessment was as wide of the mark as Jaap Stam's peno
Sion Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I did suggest Hodgson as an option after the Portsmouth away defeat. But as soon as it became an actual possibility I was dead against. I'm generally spot on most of the time.
Epic Swindle Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I argued the case for the Hodge and his posse. I also thought Robbie Keane would be a massive success.
Bigal Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 The signing of Robbie Keane. I never wanted Hodgie so thats good. Ian Rush wont score a goal for Liverpool as long as there is a hole in his a***, was a shocking shout.........................happily, that was our Dad
sutty Posted April 13, 2011 Author Posted April 13, 2011 Yeah, I called the Keane one as well. And Joe Cole would be better than Yossi.

MarkD Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I was so anti-Hodgson it was becoming an obsession. I'm glad the time wasn't wasted. After the Portsmouth away game last season, I said I wanted Rafa out. The words were still hanging in the air and I regretted them at once. I still do.

Me and big Al had a great day that day.
Bogman Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Trying to be humorous on the momentous day of getting rid of t*** & t***. Flat, face & fall spring to mind.

All the talk last summer of Hodgson being a solid, reliable old school English manager who had worked wonders at Fulham had a drip, drip effect on most of the fanbase until the time came when we could see the results of his work with our own eyes. Of course if anyone had checked his away stats in this League, it would have been plain from the off that he wasn't qualified for the job. Unfortunately the people responsible for checking his suitability for the role didn't bother with minor details like that.
smithdown Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Forfeits. You can't post sh*t like this about Hodgeybong without also offering up a forfeit.

Yes, made O'hara seem like Bale (or his imitation Messi). Horrible game. Weekd before Christmas, was absolutely hammered. Had a wonderful time before and after the match - the performance was like a fart in a lift.

stressederic Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Yeah I thought Robbie Keane was going to be epic here. It also took me years to properly warm to Carragher. Thought he was a liability for several seasons. It was only during the season when Houllier brought in Hamann, Hyypia, Henchoz etc that I came to appreciate him.
diggy Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Leaving the Stadium at halftime in Istanbul* * - I didn't really, wasn't even there but would have to be the ultimate shocking call. Actually the biggest shocking call i made was not going in the first place.

Yeah its daft stuff really I was at the fulham game a few seasons ago (when they were all but doomed) and in the boozer after the game the fulham fans were saying they were just f***ed and that Hodgson has shown absolutely nothing that suggested otherwise. If they'd not turned it round when they were 2-0 down (city was it?) then he'd probably have got the bullet and his rep in this country would be the same as it was in the Blackburn days. The europa league is also seductive in all this. But really, you qualify for the knockout stages by default. Still a fair achievement mind.
Tones Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 I thought Vignal would be our LB for years to come. But so did many others.
