I went regularly to Anfield from 98 to 2007 and never did I once get or heard anyone else getting racially abused so I do not know where the plenty of Liverpool fans being racist comes from. The only racist bit I have heard was the Momo is white b******s which thankfully was sorted by the people sitting around those idiots.

My point wasn't to say people from Liverpool are racist (its just the north end obviously)

Its that some people in this country are racist, and they support varying football teams across the country

Tends to be more noticeable at away games in my experience.

 

Hardly endemic but just easier to spot (and maybe the whole 'going away' thing brings out slightly different behaviour in people than they would generally display at home, for a range of reasons).

 

But yeah, agree with gibo that it is a bit nonsensical labelling any group of fans as racist (apart from Everton of course ) - though not much more nonsensical than labelling them all as 'Appy Ammers either i suppose.

I had the misfortune of watching the 2006 cup final in a bar in Spain whilst standing next to a fully paid up member of the Inter City Firm who sang "we've got Di Canio, you stole our stereo" over and over while getting more and more drunk.

 

My over the top celebration of Gerrard's last minute equaliser seemed to annoy him greatly so I bravely went and stood somewhere else for extra time.
