We've played 30 league games now, 20 with Uncle Roy in charge, 10 with King Kenny. Nice round numbers for comparison and evaluating. 10 games is also a decent amount of games to judge Kenny on merit without resorting to arguments of 'feel-good factor' or 'wobbles of roy aftermath.'

After 20 games under Roy, we were in 11th place, having accumulated 25 points and had a goal difference of -3. 7 wins, only 1 away from home, 4 draws and a staggering 9 defeats. That's a win rate of 35%.

Under Kenny. If the league had been restarted after he took over, we would be sitting in second place, one point behind United and a point ahead of Arsenal. Kenny has accumulated 20 points in his first 10 games, with a win rate of 60%, including 3 away wins. 2 draws and 2 defeats to complete the stats.

A league win percentage of 60% is slightly below his league win percentage of 60.72% before he took over as caretaker. Nevertheless no other liverpool manager can boast of a comparable win percentage in the league.

Extrpolating a full season's worth of results from this, Roy would have won us 48 points (rounding up) at the end of the season. Kenny would have won us 76 points with a full season of this form.

I'd be satisfied with 76 points next season, and that's assuming better players and a full summer of preparation for Kenny.

TIme to put a contract on the table FSG.

Apart from the West Ham performance where we completely outplayed, Kenny has done a fantastic job in the League since he has taken over. The Suarez signing along with Kenny's approach to game has made a huge difference to our play compared with the crap we had to suffer under Hodgson. I'd give him the contract now with cash to spend in the summer, four top quality signings would be ideal.

Its a s*** league. With the King in charge from the outset, as he should have been, no doubt we would have at least 15 more points at this juncture. Easy to be angry but its still been a great season, due to off field successes.

Its obvious he's the man for the job, i'm not a bit concerned that they won't hire him.

I'm just hoping we can go on a tremendous run and sneak up on the 2 teams infront. 8 games, 8 points deficit.

It's only 4 points up to tottenham, albeit they have a game in hand. With CL games ahead, there is every chance of them dropping points though. They have a killer trio of games in April with Real Madrid, man city away and Arsenal at WHL all in succession. I can see them drop plenty of points.

Steve Clarke needs to get a lot of credit for improving our defence so quickly after coming in. Skrtel looks much better already and Johnson on the left has shored our defence up as well.

Oh, and just to complete the picture: After Roy's first 10 league games, we were in 13th place, had accumulated 12 points with a goal difference of -4. Win%: 30%. His one away win, against Bolton, came in his 10th game. Little difference really between his first 10 and final 10 league games for us, if there was ever any doubt that things were not going to improve.

Just to be clear: All samplings of games here contain an equal amount of home and away games

I really need to avoid reading stuff like this, as it is fuel to my Roy Rage.

He was on MOTD last night. Rambling on about how losing a 2-0 lead was more down to the quality of the opposition rather than any faults of his own team.

I'd have punched the tv if it was still us he was talking about.

we've conceded 8 in his first 10 league games, which is not great. OTOH, 6 of those games have been clean sheets. And if we want to think of things like beginner's wobbles, 4 of those goals were scored in his first two league games in charge, where we amassed all of 1 point.

Been looking much more solid since.

I have to change channel if he is on Tele, as MrsBushymoustache cannot bear anymore Roy Rage. I can actually feel the rage building as soon as he opens his mouth.

We need to smash WBA in the next game. Massive banana skin this one.

Spurs and Man City both come to Anfield, and they also play each other. If you carry on the form from the last 6 or 8 games us, Man City and Spurs all end up within three points of each other.

Still a massive punt but it's possible again.

he is still undefeated at WBA isn't he?

If we don't beat the saggy faced owl, I'm going to kick him in his enormous c**k.

Nobody can do any better with these players hey? f*** off

The main intent of this thread was actually more to focus on how well Kenny has been doing.

Remembering this quote has set off my own Roy Rage though. f*** off, uncle roy.

Regarding top 4 or 5 finish, I just can't see it, yes Spurs and Man City will drop points, Spurs far more likely of the two because of Champions League commitments but to make up 7-8 pts with 8 games to go is asking too much. Who is Spurs game in hand against?

They have Wigan away next up before playing Real Madrid away.

" A defeat to Liverpool is not what you hope for, but i'm pleased for Kenny, who's being given a chance i never had. It's difficult to understand how we lost 6-0, as from what i could see, we deserved at least a draw, which would have been a win in terms of result. Will we get relegated ? Nobody is too good to be relegated, except your Man Utds, but i can only work with what i have. Nobody could work harder or get more out of these players. Nobody in my 36 years of management could have done more with my players."

It's what we've made up on them in the last eight games (http://stats.football365.co.uk/dom/ENG/PR/oform.html). Very unlikely for fourth, but I think there's a fair chance for fifth.
