Red Yoda Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 .................................................reina carragher................skrtel.....................soto..................johnson .................................................lucas kuyt.......................................meireles................................maxi .............................carroll.............................n'gog bench : gulasci....wilson....poulsen....spearing....cole....jovanovic....pacheco injured or unavailable : kelly....agger....aurelio....gerrard....saurez i think there are a cpl of choices in the line up for the 17th .......... four at the back or play wing backs ..... with kelly and aurelio not being available i think we will go with four at the back ... but to be honest i think it will end up being more of a three .. carragher ... soto .... skrtel , i think johnson will dive forward at every opportunityto try a give us width down the right or left whichever side he is deployed on , with carragher generally staying back . the midfield / forward question........... lucas....meireles....kuyt are def starters , its which other three start with them......... personally i'd go with maxi ..... who has been more consistent the cole in the final third , carroll ...... i know hes short of match fitness and we may only get 60 mins at most , but his presence will be imense and could make such a massive difference n'gog ..... i know he hasnt started much recently but with at least two goals being required i think the added body up front will help .
CarraLegend Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Wouldnt start Ngog. Should be Carra, Soto, Agger (if he fancies it, Skrtel if not), Johnson, Maxi/Cole, Meireles, Lucas, Maxi/Cole, Dirk, Carroll. The Greek and Carroll to score 2 each.

Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 Cole should be at home watching it on telly
Malcolm Bliss Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 I guess I can assume UEFA did nowt with Kaka and his elbow to Carroll.

Destroy them.
johngibo YPC Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Kuyt up front instead of N'gog, Maxi on the right, Pacheco on the left. Destroy them. If Pacheco couldn't get on last time he's not starting this time
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 If Pacheco couldn't get on last time he's not starting this time I fear he's been over-hyped by the internets.
johngibo YPC Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I fear he's been over-hyped by the internets. Maybe. I just think modern football is more and more like a game of chess, and he's not a very good chess player
Stupid Sexy Flanders Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Maybe. I just think modern football is more and more like a game of chess, and he's not a very good chess player Unless he's a smart ass pawn.
johngibo YPC Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Unless he's a smart ass pawn. The King stay The King!
richwilks Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 I fear he's been over-hyped by the internets. He's a very good player and will be ideal for this kind of game when we are playing against a team who will sit back. He's very good at picking up pockets of space and playing the killer ball which we will need in this game and I don't think we have another player available able to do that.
Damian_de Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 He's a very good player how do you know that, really?
Conrad Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Kuyt up front instead of N'gog, Maxi on the right, Pacheco on the left.Destroy them. Not again. Kenny's more likely to play
fred milne Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 how do you know that, really? From the admittedly brief cameos from him I saw in Rafa's final season, he looked a very bright prospect. I understand he also did well representing his country last summer,. If it were up to me and the choice was between him or Cole for LM in a tie like this at home, I'd go with Pacheco.

BDB Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 1pm Kick off on the west coast on St. Patrick's Day doesn't help me at all.Silly Daylight Savings time. 1. Long lunch from 1-3pm.. Doubt I'm coming back from that.2. Bar will be jammed with people drinking green beer and irish coffees. They had already started last thursday making the whipped cream for the irish coffees.

No Guinness with the shamrock then?
BDB Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 And even worse - March Madness starts. So it'll be all basketball all the time in bars.
