Logic Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 (edited) Just saw this: News tritisima at Betis. Miki Roque, one of the most promising players of the workforce suffers from a malignant tumor in the pelvis that supports no choice but to be removed. Be involved in Spain in the next two weeks. Not surprisingly, will not play again this season. You can return to playing football, depernderá of its evolution. The boy has appeared this morning before the press to give himself the news. "I have found a tumor and I have to remove. The doctors are optimistic, cancer is very advanced and have been told there will be many problems to remove it. Unfortunately for me, the season is over" he said with firmness before you get excited and break to mourn. Miki has been accompanied by all his colleagues and the president, Rafael Gordillo, Dr. Tomas Calero, and coach Pepe Mel, all teary-eyed. http://www.elcorreoweb.es/deportes/betis/117554/descubren/tumor/miki/roqueSad news for the lad. edit: Don't think "pelvic cancer" is the correct description of this. Bone cancer probably more correct, and the prognosis for such isn't very good. Edited March 5, 2011 by Logic
muleskinner Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Poor lad, horrendous. Hope he makes a full recovery.
Swipe Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Awful. Suggestions on twitter he's had to retire? Hope he makes a full and swift recovery.
Tones Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Feck me thats bad. obviously wish him a full recovery. horrible news that.
£440,000 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 The original Spanish version of the translation below has him saying that it's not very advanced and the doctors think it can be removed without too many problems. Whatever, it's still a horrible thing to happen.
Spion kop Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Malignant means it's not spreading does it not? good luck to the lad.
BG Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Malignant means it's not spreading does it not? good luck to the lad. No sadly not. Malignant means it's invasive (ie it has the capacity to spread). The article says its grade 1-2. Normally that means that any spread is only local (ie no distant spread to other organs etc) but the article gives no info about the site and type of cancer so it's impossible to know really. Wish him well.
Nathan Explosion Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Malignant means it's not spreading does it not? No it doesn't.
