Jon Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 (edited) This was smaller than the 7.1 in September last year at 6.3, but it was only 5km deep as opposed to 33km. Buildings already weakened have this time collapsed, death toll 5 hours after the initial quake is already at 17 Entire office blocks have collapsed with people inside so the death toll could rise dramatically Pictures are horrific, including one rock the size of a bus that has fallen down a hillside landing on Returned Servicemen Association building Fortunately my family in Christhurch have confirmed all ok Death toll just revised, PM John Key has announced it now stands at 65 (5 hrs 31mins after) Edited February 22, 2011 by Jon
