CarraLegend Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Damn, thats a bit of a blow. Would have been involved plenty more times and means Poulsen will get more minutes. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/liverpool-dealt-shelvey-blow Liverpool have been dealt a blow with the news that Jonjo Shelvey will be out of action for 12 weeks with a tendon problem in his knee. The England U19 international will now begin a lengthy rehabilitation programme with the club's medical staff at Melwood. Speaking to Liverpoolfc.tv today, Shelvey said: "I'm a bit down at the moment but I'm just hoping now I can come back stronger. "I am now going to take a 12 week rehabilitation and hopefully I'll be back soon."
David Hodgson Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Pisser. Love the Shelvinator. Also Carroll's still 'weeks' off according to Kenny, and Joe Cole not fit yet. Skrtel also injured (dunno how long for).

David Hodgson Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Bugger, shame for the lad. Like to see Wilson along side Carra and Agger. Yeah, good call.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Yeah, good call. that'd be yet another "left back" in the XI. we all dream of a team of number threes.
Nate. Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 I thought Carroll was near to fitness just before our links to him started. Newcastle were on about him being nearly back. What happened there?
Leo No.8 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Shame for Jonjo, Kenny obviously likes him and was looking to get him on where he could. He has loads of potential, hope this doesn't set him back.

He has loads of potential, hope this doesn't set him back. Yeah it's a real shame. He seems to have a good attitude though and having had a taste of first team action the motivation to work hard and get back soon couldn't be stronger. The other young players should see this as an opportunity to take his place on the bench. If we have any upto the task to be a regular first-team sub like Jonjo Baldy then this is a perfect time to show what they can do and fill the gap.
Eiler99 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Real shame for the lad. But there'll still be plenty of minutes for him when he recovers.
Tones Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Disappointed for him. Hes looked very useful for such a young player. Hopefully he comes back fully fit and continues on.
lfc003 Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Should let Suso take his place in the squad.
Swipe Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Real shame that. Think he's gonna be great. He's been excellent coming on late and keeping possession.
D.Boon Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Big hopes for the lad, he looks like a good'un. Hopefully not as problematic as other players who have suffered with tendonitis in the knee.
Dule Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Could be the chance that Pacheco has been looking for? I actually think that this moment in time would be perfect, considering Wigan will most likely sit back. Pacheco has a knack for opening up teams with killer short passes, I want to see this kid get a run before the end of the season, otherwise we may actually lose him. Edited February 10, 2011 by Dule
CarraLegend Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 This is annoying, he's been having some decent cameo's and been looking a bit better and less nervous each time I think. Still only 18 too!! Still, plenty of time for him to come back but a shame, he might have had a few starts in Europe too.
Cam Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Should be a chance for Pacheco but hopefully it'll tempt Kenny into risking Suso on the bench at some point.
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Poor lad. I ruptured my knee tendon and I'm out for a whole year. Of course Jonjo's not the athlete that I am. Get well soon Jonjo.
Ombudsam Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 I remember at the start of the season when he said he backed himself to play a fair bit and I doubted it. Ha! I've been proven right. F*ck you Shelvey!
Ethan Posted February 11, 2011 Posted February 11, 2011 Ah feck - thats hard luck for the lad - looks a decent prospect. Roy Hodgson isn't afraid to throw them into the mix
