Are they the best team you've ever seen? If not what is? Think they are the best I've ever seen and Messi is overtaking Zidane for best player I've ever seen.

89 goals in last 88 games for Barca, most of them f*cking amazing!

Unreal team and a privelage to watch. I guess I would still go with Zindane, he could do things with a football that should not even be possible.

The greatest club sides I've seen are AC Milan (Rijkaard, Gullit, Van Basten), 87-88 Liverpool (Barnes, Beardsley, Aldridge), Ajax (Kluivert, Litmanen, Davids, Seedorf) and now this Barcelona team. All four gave me the feeling that when they stepped on the pitch, they weren't going to lose. And if they did, it was a massive shock.

this Barcelona team is relentless. they take the game to the opposition from the kick off and just keep at them until they score a goal. after that, it's just a guess to see how many they will actually score.

every single player looks good on the ball, is willing to go backwards to go forwards, receive the ball even when surrounded and then make a quick pass to a free player.

it also helps that they play on a huge pitch that looks as good as the Anfield turf.

Messi's first goal at the weekend was superb, he moves so quickly with the ball that defenders are left for dead.

like Barnes says, they are at the top of that list of his mainly for sheer consistency.

I'd add the older Ajax team that had Cruyff and the Red Star team that came to Anfield many years ago and took us apart.

that would be some tournament if these 4 played each other

One thing I was wondering - do you think seeing your team being relentlessly brilliant all the time would ever get boring? I thought of the fans being like 'another 30 yarder after beating 5 players from Messi - so what?'. There's something more exciting in seeing your club flirt with administration, be wrested from evil hands in a court battle, be managed by the biggest, oldest c*nt in football then come charging back to glory led by a legend.

F*ck 16 wins in succession and 59 goals from your front three (the 'MVP') in 20 starts, its too f*cking easy! The joy we're feeling now under Kenny with 4 wins is probably a lot greater than the Barca fans!

The thing for me s when you see their front playerstrackin back. Real Madrid had an awesome group of players with zidane figo et al but this barca is a genuine team.

The only question for me is the league. It's basically Scotland with money. Any top player in Spain goes to either barca or real. In other leagues the spread of players is thinner leading to better comp.

Before a ball is kicked teams are aiming for third.

You have to question motivation soon too. When you are strolling games in your league canyoi turn up for the cl?

Barca fans lived with years of disappointment and being overshadowed though eh?

Good post. This Barca team aren't quite as rock solid as some of the other great teams in recent times.

Theyre still awesome though. A genuine joy to watch. Xavi and Iniesta are as good a CM partnership as I've ever seen.

Messi is decent too.

The current Barcelona team is the probably the best I have seen in my life time in terms of 'beauty' - they play the game better than any I have seen - caveat though - I am only 31.

I am really looking forward to their 2 games against Arsenal purely cause Arsenal cant play ball by putting 10 behind the ball and they cant kick a team off the park. Its the ideal game of football.

Really looking forward to that game myself. I haven't had skysports for a while now so i've not been able to watch much of Real or Barca, but ITV are showing this one i think. Never normally watch games featuring other teams than Liverpool, let alone look forward to them (i don't even bother with motd if we haven't played). This one should be great entertainment though.

They are definitely up there. Third season in a row they've been amazing and they look like they have a few more in them. Not many historically great teams manage that. They'll want to win the European Cup a few more times before it falls apart though, lest the end up like Juve of the mid-90s, who for my money was as good as any team I've seen but never god quite the recognition it deserved as they only won one of their 3 CL finals on the bounce.

What really impresses me is that as a team, they are near perfect in attack and have so many strings to play on. And perhaps the greats individualist we've seen since Maradona is planted right in the centre of it and making it all better.

40 goals already this season. He could be odds on for 60.

Rijkaard's Barca were a joy to watch as well, but I don't think it was better than Cruyff's dream team. This one is though.

is this barca better to watch the real one which raped mancs.. these guys are more clinical but for the sheer pisstaking id say real were better.. figo, ronaldo, raul on the half way line not bothering to defend whilst roberto carlos trying back heels on the edge of his own box.. suicide stuff but was good to watch.. their decline really started when beckham came and they sacked del bosque.. however for sheer ruthlessness this barca team in the best ive seen

Mcmanaman was MOTM that game

this barca team is miles better, the 5-0 against real was the probably the best team performance I've ever seen
