Epic Swindle Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Buzzing now. Interesting to see who makes way for Suarez. I'd probably play him up top on his own and switch Dirk to the right. Or we might go there with the same set up as tonight. Edited February 3, 2011 by Epic Swindle
épieur Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I tell you what. We beat them and I will start looking at how we look for 4th place after each round.
libero Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I tell you what. We beat them and I will start looking at how we look for 4th place after each round. Easy tiger. Like your optimism but reign it in a wee bit.
Epic Swindle Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 Easy tiger. Like your optimism but reign it in a wee bit. Yep. Just want to see us keep playing the same way and winning games. My priority at the moment is the Europa. I think we need to make a bit of a statement and build a bit of momentum going into next season.
Sion Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Too late realistically to get 4th unless we win 11 or 12 of our remaining games, which when you consider we have Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Man City all to play is probably unlikely. But the closer we get the better the confidence will be going into next season. I'd be happy with 6th as it would probably mean only 1 prelim EL round, any higher would be a bonus. We should just go to Chelsea with the same attitude we've had recently and with a bit of add fire in their bellies hopefully through wanting to prove Torres wrong you never know what could happen. Sunderland won there convincingly. They're not the team they were, even with Luiz and/or Torres.
psl Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Don't mean to be negative but can't see anything other than a Torres double. Luis will just have to get three.
Epic Swindle Posted February 3, 2011 Author Posted February 3, 2011 If we're setting up in 3-5-2, I'd like Carra back in instead of Skrtel and Suarez instead of Aurelio. ReinaCarra Kyra AggerKelly Lucas Raul JohnoGerrardKuty Suarez
psl Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 SKRTEL: TORRES COULD REGRET MOVE Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel does not think the team will miss striker Fernando Torres having brought in Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez to replace him. He even suggested the Spain international may regret his £50million move to Chelsea, which was completed on Monday just after £35million Carroll and £22.8million Suarez had been confirmed as the Reds' new recruits. "We have captured Suarez and Carroll. I believe these two will replace him and we will be at least as strong as we were with Nando," said the defender. "We all feel sorry because he's a player of world class ability but, to be honest, it was no surprise. "This season has not been going according to our wishes and expectations and that convinced him that it is the right time to move elsewhere. This is how he explained it to us. "I wish him all the best but do not wish any success to Chelsea. "Maybe Fernando will regret making this step sometime in the future." Torres' debut could come against his former club at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Skrtel is confident, however, he can keep the 26-year-old quiet. "It will be different because so far I have been playing against him only in training," the Slovakian told isport.blesk.cz. "I hope he appears on the pitch and, since Chelsea wanted him so much, it is very likely that he will. "I'm looking forward and firmly believe I won't let him score." http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6718915,00.html
Gethin Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Mad theory - the new formation was tried today more with the Chelsea game in mind and to counter Torres knowing our tactics. Negates some of his inside info if the formation has changed dramatically
downunder Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Mad theory - the new formation was tried today more with the Chelsea game in mind and to counter Torres knowing our tactics. Negates some of his inside info if the formation has changed dramatically I wouldn't play Carra, Drogba always get the better of him, I don't think any forward has accused Carra as much trouble as him.
Red Kent Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Easy, 15 minutes before kick-off, sit the lads down and make them watch the t***s first interview on CFCtv. Easiest team talk Kenny will have to do.
Beardsley Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 I wouldn't play Carra, Drogba always get the better of him, I don't think any forward has accused Carra as much trouble as him. Henry Our defenders should change their studs into track & field studs for the next game. Hallooooooo, Torres.
johngibo YPC Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Think tonights formation will work well against Chelsea. Suarez in for Fabio (who played well). Carra in if he's readyThey all laugh at us.....
Ethan Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Even though we know everything we need to about Chelsea - having Steve Clarke will give us a little more knowledge for us to target. Chelsea are very beatable
Cheesecake Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Skrtel with the winner, after being shocking n the first half, he will bundle in his own header on 71 minutes, we'll hang on despite tremendous pressure for a Roy Hodgson style 'famous win' Later Suarez will bite all the Cheslea team and claim innocence seeing as he thought they were plastic. Later still he will be found not guilty by someone proporting to be a football organisation. Platini will be disgusted, Sane people wil rejoice.
Cheesecake Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Chelsea 0 LFC 1 Dirk we agree to disagree, wheres eric and his magic 8 ball?
Sir Tokyo Sexwale Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Terry red card, 15 mins - can't handle Suarez & hauls him down. We go on to rip their guts out
Michael Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Terry red card, 15 mins - can't handle Suarez & hauls him down. We go on to rip their guts out The Chelsea team would immediately fall apart if Terry were sent off. They would be so worried about who else was sharing his early bath.
Stevie H Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 is david luiz due to make his debut for chelsea as well? be interesting to see how they line up since his best position is the same as terry's, left-sided centre back.
Nebraska Red Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Torres just ordered 2 chastity belts for his missus. John Terry has ordered a blow torch.
Zoob Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 It's going to be frighteningly interesting to see how the ref deals with Torres - in the last 3 years just about every ref has allowed him to be kicked all over the place without awarding free kicks or cards. Will be gutting if he suddenly starts winning free kicks and pens.
Red Kent Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 One thing that will deffo happen on Sunday is that t***tes will get more protection off the referee in this one game than what he had in one season for us.
Andy @ Allerton Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Buzzing now. Interesting to see who makes way for Suarez. I'd probably play him up top on his own and switch Dirk to the right. Or we might go there with the same set up as tonight. Why would you move Kuyt when he had such a good game? I'd leave him where he is and stick Suarez behind him and leave everything else. That's the first time we've played as a team with Gerrard in the side for about 18 months (Apart from the 15 minutes at the start where he was his usual individual self). Nice to see. Hope it continues. Would be nice if Carra and Carroll came of the bench late doors and booted the s*** out of them as well, mind Edited February 3, 2011 by xyzzy
