Red Kent Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I believe Ferguson is on a win win here and will pick a side of first team players and squad members. He has treated this competition with contempt over the years so going out will not hurt him,but if he wins then hes beaten Liverpool with a reserve side. If he loses then hes probably kept his mate in a job and ensured we are still no longer a threat to him.
CarraLegend Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Nah, they'll play their strongest possible team. They wont be risking the same humiliation as last year.
stressederic Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I think he wants to stuff us. He rested players last night with us in mind

Gomez Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 He could play the under-12s, and still win, Roy hasn't got a clue how to set a team up to win away from home and he's not a big game manager, and our players know it.
Roscoe Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 he'll want his team to humiliate us and then he'll use his pals in the media to blame the mess we're in on Rafa and advocate the t*** gets more time. at this rate he won't just see us off our perch, we'll be prostrate at the bottom of a busted cage.
richwilks Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What's the chance that Michael Owen will play? and score 4.
superledger Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 What's the chance that Michael Owen will play? I think Fergie will deffo play him as it'll be the ultimate humiliation. Personally, I think Fergie only bought him so he didnt come back to us so his money's worth on this occasion would be welcomed I'm sure. I think we'll go out all guns blazing but worry about how we'll react if/when we go behind.
richwilks Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 We should counter their reserve/not care attitude by sacking our manager tonight and going in with Sammy Lee in charge. If we lose then what did everyone expect? We had no manager. If we win? The ultimate humiliation.

Benzo-13 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 If Kenny is in charge for this it'll change everything.I just have Ride of the Valkyries in my head.
anfield11 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I'd announce our team 15 minutes before kick off and send the under 18's out.
johngibo YPC Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I'd announce our team 15 minutes before kick off and send the under 18's out. You're not going then i take it
superledger Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Ferguson told Inside United Magazine: “It was a bad result last season against Leeds, especially considering the rivalry between the two clubs, “In hindsight I could have picked a stronger team. I won't be making that mistake this time. “It is an important trophy so there is a strong desire to get our hands on it. “We haven't won it since 2004, or been to Wembley in the final since we lost to Chelsea in 2007. So we definitely want to get back there. And we want to win it.”
anfield11 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 You're not going then i take it It's very sad on my part, I've already written it off. And if we play a weakened team tonight because of it, I'll be p*ssed if we lose points.....but will likely win the pool with Hodgson [i can't even call him Roy] gone on the 8th

Nebraska Red Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I think that the drunken old sot will take the opportunity to beat the living s*** out of us on Sunday. he'll play close to his first 11 and tell them to keep scoring as often as they can. I really fear a nasty shellacking for us.
AE Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 So based on current form are we looking at them getting into double figures????
KentyRed Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 (edited) Loving the under 18's idea but artful hodger wouldn't have the balls to do it and p*** his mate off Edited January 5, 2011 by ScouseMouse
doug_mac Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 they will be full strength and looking to put a score up against us. i watched them against sunderland last week and they destroyed them, could have been 6 or 7 up at half time if they play like that we will be massacred roy will be going there for nil nil and a replay to try save his job. the last thing ferguson wants is another fixture this could be a horrible game for us and i think we will be well beaten, we dont score goals, we dont keep clean sheets and we dont play as a team at least it will be roy's last game after we get spanked they will have to bin him
dorgie Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Time for white flag and "nearer my god to thee", if Roy is still here Sunday.
Cam Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 Play the kids and laugh at the Mancs for treating the games seriously.
