Ombudsam Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 There seems to be this undercurrent of thought that they have become destructive in some way. Why? any evidence for this. How come the love isn't universal. I have no idea what they are meant to have done.
richwilks Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Rumours that they turned against Rafa and had some say in the appointment of Hodgson. They deserve stringing up if the second rumour is true.
CarraLegend Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 These rumours are sad, theres enough to rip Carra about as it is.
Benzo-13 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Full of compliments to Rafa when he left weren't they? Oh.. Wait..
Epic Swindle Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Malicious rubbish imo. Easy targets given their seniority but I doubt they're as influential as people like to make out. If they did stop believing in Benitez I'm sure they had their reasons, that doesn't mean they put the pressure on to get rid. I'm also sure they would have loved to work under another top class manager.

£440,000 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Rumour was that Gerrard wanted Curbishley in when Houllier went. Maybe he just likes middling English managers.
Tones Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Carra did say some utterly ridiculous things about Rafa. Was annoyed that people like Martin ONeill and Ferguson etc didnt like Liverpool under Rafa. Which is a plus in my books, but obviously not Carras.
Ombudsam Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 Rumours that they turned against Rafa and had some say in the appointment of Hodgson. They deserve stringing up if the second rumour is true. Does anyone actually know this. These rumours are sad, theres enough to rip Carra about as it is. Like what though? You mean his form? I think I've just missed out on a load of stuff recently.
Tones Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Isnt Carra also believed to be the one who sent Houllier the "He hasnt beat you boss" after Rafa left?
Lanus Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Honestly, I think there are a section of our fans who are turning into bitters. Admittedly it is bloody difficult to be at all positive these days but it almost seems to me like some people would prefer to tear away at our own club since we've nothing else to do/hope for. Bitter about the american ownership, continued on with Hodgson... now.. just bitter.
superledger Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Urban legend at best. Until we read different in an autobiography, this story remains faker than Fakey MacFake
Red Kent Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 All rumours made up by OOT'rs, they hate scouse.
Epic Swindle Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 Scouse is lovely, must have peas though Does not compute.
Flight Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 In the scheme of things it doesn't matter what they may or may not have done. What matters is : 1) Both are legends and will forever deserve a place in our clubs history; 2) Carra is past it and needs replacing; 3) Stevie is one of our best ever midfielders but he is 31 soon, his presence on the pitch limits other players unless he is disciplined and his ability to lead as a captain is questionable; 4) Above everything we need a new manager in to place Hodgson who will not be swayed 1% by any influence a player may have at the club now or historiucally.
Hassony Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 the timing of Carra getting a new 3 years contract is a bit peculiar to be honest, and his comments about other managers getting upset were stupid
DazzlaJ Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 and his comments about other managers getting upset were stupid Such a caring soul, especially considering he would of sanctioned Lucas Neill getting a hiding if David Thompson wasn't there.

Benzo-13 Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 ESPN Classic just showing 2006 FAC Final.Gerrard's goal is just ridiculous.. Better times.
Murphman Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 ESPN Classic just showing 2006 FAC Final.Gerrard's goal is just ridiculous.. Better times. No, KONCHESKY'S goal is the ridiculous one. The useless c*nt.
johngibo YPC Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 I know for a fact that Rafa was disappointed/angry that certain senoir players turned on him. And it seems very obvious that Gerrard and Carra wanted him gone by the fact that neither of them had a positive thing to say about him since he went. But we dont know how much this had an affect or how much they were influencial in RFH's appointment. But this isn't the big deal anyway. If we have a good summer in the transfer market and start a season well then suddenly they are happy again. The problem in the summer there was very little leadership and what we did have was an arrogant s****. It all comes back to those three words basically. f*** off Purslow

Rocheteau Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 The problem is that somewhere along the way we became Rafa Benitez FC without telling the players, the managers or the shareholders
