Lanus Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 We've done all the polling... It's clear that the fans want Rafa back. It's also clear that the press so far seem to be very much biased against Rafa (telegraph and BBC reporting that it's 'small sections' of fans who want him back). Supporting Liverpool has been a bloody struggle for a long time now (or has felt this way)... I heard that people were tying ribbons with pro Rafa slogans to the anfield gates... this is the kinda thing we need to do and in big numbers too.If we don;t somehow find a way to voice our well enough educated opinion that Rafa would be best back at Anfield then we'll be left with the owners reading BBC and the telegraph and god knows what other s*** rags and they may not consider appointing Rafa.
DJS Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Some guy just on Talksport about 10 mins ago, claims to be an SOS member, says he has 70,000 messages/emails from forum members, SOS members etc, which he will be forwarding onto the owners. He also says there's a plan via SOS, to get the Rafa flags and banners out for the Wolves game, to put forward the strongest message possible, to get Hodgson out and Rafa back in. The Wolves game could yet be more interesting than you'd have expected...
Lanus Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Holy s*** that's awesome! I want to see more of this!
Wazz Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 We got the cancers running the club booted out by fan power, its time to show the support for Rafa at every opportunity. The longer hodgson is in a job, the more support will pour out for Rafa at every game. The owners won't then be able to discount him so easily.

We have to do this before someone else snaps Rafa up too.

Lanus Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 thank god Ray Houghton came on after that and spoke sense about giving Roy some time and some money to spend I am almost sure that Ray houghton can't ever win in football manager.... he never really recovered from the old championship manager fiasco, where they asked him for tactical input and the game was a complete disaster.
Benzo-13 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 thank god Ray Houghton came on after that and spoke sense about giving Roy some time and some money to spendWhen Houghton makes a statement about the club then the opposite is usually for our benefit.A f***ing weasel is all he is.
DJS Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 thank god Ray Houghton came on after that and spoke sense about giving Roy some time and some money to spend They had to redress the balance.

Fans (possibly) helped, but we didn't get them out, their lack of money and the banks did that.
Lanus Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 I don't have talksport here ... some on here are saying that most of the fans don't actually want rafa back... other websites are SHOWING this with lots and lots of people posting in sneering at Rafa... they coukd be filtered to give a certain hue to their stories... but basically the people phoning in are in favour of Rafa coming back? Fans (possibly) helped, but we didn't get them out, their lack of money and the banks did that. well that was different.. I mean I'm sure Mr. Henry and co would be very interested to hear what the loyal fans thought... Hicks didn't give a toss.

downunder Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Averaging about 70% yes. That is undeniable. Approx half the fans wanted Rafa to go, many more than half think they want him back as RH is so bad. If there was another alternative I think many would want that instead of Rafa. Raf has hardly done anything in the past 6 months to show he is the world's greatest. Its just sad that Roy has proved he is close to being the world's worst.

Its just sad that Roy has proved he is close to being the world's worst.Rafa's done enough in the last 8 years to show he is one of the top managers in the world. In Italy he is 13 points behind but 2 games in hand from our own experience we know generally he is a strong finisher so it's not outside the realms of possibility he could have still ended up winning the league. But we will never know.
Redray Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Interesting how the media are quickly turning against hodgson Quickly? 'Snail-like' comes to mind.
Hassony Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Quickly? 'Snail-like' comes to mind. fair point "suddenly" rather than quickly perhaps
davewigan Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Quickly? 'Snail-like' comes to mind. Coincidental it's the same time he has laid into Joe, who has always been a media poster boy who could have single handed won the world cup if been picked.
Benzo-13 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Quickly? 'Snail-like' comes to mind."Hodgson-like"
Lanus Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 Dress it up anyway you want. The polls the showing those figures, that's my only point. I would want Rafa back regardless... he had a really tough time from owners/press in the last season... it made a lot of people forget the massive progress that we made under Rafa. before he took over were weren't considered a power in Europe at all.. (CL obviously).. we won the CL in 2005 and spent the next year listening to people say it was all a fluke.. we may not have won it in 2007 which is a damn shame cause apparently you can be a failure at a club that hadn't even put in a title contention in 15 years before yer appointment and still be considered a failure in the eyes of some fans... but getting to that final in 2007 showed everyoen that it was no f***in fluke. then 2 seasons ago we nearly brought the mother of all trohpies back to Anfield... but 1 bloody season... thats all it took for the whole house to fall down. you know, this whole episode... if things continue the way they are.. I'm not sure i'll be too motivated into supporting the club.

Flight Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Interesting how the media are quickly turning against hodgson Ever since I called UK journalism the worst in the world and cited their treatment of Hodgson as an example on that live Warner/Henry phone in. No need to thank me. I'll sign autographs later.
davewigan Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Whatever it takes to turn them. It is an about-turn as Hassony said above. Few more negative articles over the next few days hopefully some coverage on MOTD / football focus. (never going to be sky) Rafa chants / hodgson out at the next two games and I reckon he will crack up. He has ready proven he can't hane the media spotlight at press conferences / live tvMatches.
Lanus Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 The new owners are known for spending money wisely. I would think it very wise to get Rafa in right now... let him sign 2 top players in january and hope that we can get a run together and possibly push into the top 4 by the end of the season.... whether this is realtic or not is another story but I'd of course be happy to see us make reasonable progress... enough to convince our top players to stick around for more progress int he summer window then. God i just want Roy our and Rafa in... it wouldnt even be hard for them to do.. probably wouldnt cost more than a few million.
